Motivation is just the drive we need in order to succeed in our everyday lives. Whether it be for fame, fortune, influence, or something else entirely, motivation can inspire many of us. Without it, why would most of us be doing anything at all? My motivation for success comes from the joy I can bring others; If I can make others happy, then I  could make myself happy. It's definitely a win-win situation.

What is your motive in succession? How hard are you willing to work towards your success? Thanks for your insight, chums.

I'm only motivated to succeed when it's to the point where if I don't, something bad will happen. I don't really have motivation to do much of anything until it really really matters if I succeed or not.

It depends on what I'm trying to do. If it's success at school, then I think of the consequences of doing nothing and failing. Getting good grades gives me a better chance at getting into a better college and possibly not having to pay as much for it as well. If I don't get good grades, I'll be punished in some way by parents, and I don't want that, so I usually end up thinking about that. I won't be allowed to do things I enjoy outside of schoolwork like sports, video games, Vizzed, etc. The good feeling I get when I finish all my work and do well also motivates me to do my best at school. Sometimes, I end up waiting till the last minute to do work, but that's when I have the most motivation, when I don't have much time left.

For things like sports, watching motivational videos is pretty good, in my opinion. Those usually manage to at least give me goosebumps, if they somehow don't motivate me. Certain types of music can be motivational as well. Doesn't have to be heavy metal or rock, it just has to be something to get you fired up.

I'm not really motivated to do other things like chores and stuff, until my parents start yelling or something

My motivation? That's easy its called determination. I set myself to do things I haven't accomplished as of yet which is the impossible people say. I have been able to do some or most. I still feel I have a long way to go with what I need to do in life, and my determination helps by keep on burning strong for me to get there. So if my determination was to fade out? I wouldn't know what to do it would mean for me to get it back up and running that....would be a hard thing to do. So I keep on going with my motivation to earn things and do things. At other times I listen to music which can help me build up more on that, or maybe watch movies related to it in a way. ^-^

I'm afraid I'm starting to get preachy when I answer some of these topics.

My motivation for success comes from my natural aggression in life. Everything is fun when you're good at it. Being good at something takes practice and hard work and I find a lot of joy in discovering I've made improvements at a skill or a talent and I'm better than I was last week.

I like the work. I like the breaking down the footwork for pickleball and boxing. I like grinding out 50 yard sprints over and over to get ready for a 5k or a half-marathon. I like breaking down the stats in quantifiable information at work to decide what we're doing next.

The fun is in the details and I love it when I can show up somewhere and people are like, "Are you any good at cornhole?" I'll smile and say I played a few times and I know the rules. Then I start dropping bags in holes.

I have had to practice being subtle and being understated. I'm working on it but it is satisfying to not brag and people find out, "Holy ****, this guy is really good. We had no idea."

But the ultimate motivation is internal. I know I can do all these things well. I love the pursuit of getting there and saying, "Yep, I'm good at that," to myself.
