Crime is something most aware, law-abiding citizens wouldn't attempt at all. Just the thought of it sets me off. Even so, there comes a time in life where one might have to compromise their moral values to achieve a given goal, despite how much it hurts. In reality, there are many possible reasons for a morally-sound person to jump to crime; maybe it's single-minded focus on a given goal, feeling like a cog in a machine and the desire to break free from that mold, lack of self-image, small temptations to steal, self-serving bias, monetary motivation, environmental influence, or if people try to rationalize their selfish actions despite them conflicting with their morals. The list goes on.

Would you ever resort to crime for any given reason, such as poverty or low self-esteem? Would you feel guilty from the  offense? Thanks for reading this.

Would I commit a crime for novelty or low self-esteem?  No.  But I speed 7 miles per hour over the speed limit every day so I am a law breaker.  The flow of traffic is brisk along the freeway where I travel to and from work and it's more dangerous to go the speed limit or under and be a roadblock in the middle of a lane.  That can get people killed.

And if the situation were ultra dire, where a family member were about to die and we had to do something to save them, I would probably commit a crime and pay for the restitution after.  Or I'd figure out a way to make things right once we were done.

Otherwise I'm a big supporter of laws.   I believe they help hold together society and they're important to respect.  No one is more important or more special than the law and no one has any business breaking a law because they feel like it doesn't apply to them.  Those are the kind of people that end up hurting others more readily than anyone else.

Nope I wouldn't want it on my record. Something like that would be bad I mean if I was to do something so serious as that my family will never look at me the same way again. Even though I am having trouble with some of them I do love most of my family a lot. I rather be in the clear doing whats right than to do a crime that will stain me and my life forever. I mean there are other people in the world who do it for bad reasons, and some for good reasons which would be complicated. But, I just rather not commit a crime at all. '-'

Depends on the reason and crime. As Ghostbear points out,we all do little crimes daily, like go a few miles over the speed limit, talk on our cell phones while driving,or change lanes without signaling. Normally,I would not even consider committing a crime. But if someone threatens to harm me or my family, then I would take their lives and I would not feel remorse.
