Hi guys so we have all had a point of writing our own fanfictions of something we have watched or seen. Which would make us inspired to create our own version stories of them, but to be a whole lot more better than the original. Have you ever done this before? it could be about anything, and if so what have you written why and how did they inspire you? I like to learn more about these types of topics from people since its always a joy to learn something new of these types of things.

I mainly write fanfics based on vocaloid songs. That's largely because I love vocaloid Of course, I also written a few multichapter fanfics, one is based on a show I watched and it's a vocaloid fic, the other is based on an idea I had and it's a Sister Princess fic (my guilty pleasure >.> ).

All of my fanfics based on vocaloid songs are on dA. The rest are on FF.

I like to write fanfics about having a universe that I really like then inserting my favorite character ever (some of you might know who I'm talking about :p. OR DO YOU?) in the universe then see the universe get so weird that I can't take the fanfic seriously anymore. I also like replacing every character in a series with characters from another series and have it sorta be like a "what if" fanfic. Then there's the parody fanfics where I don't take anything seriously (but try to have the same cannon events happen) then there's the fanfics where I take a parody and make a parody of it.

Making something super serious is out of my reach so never expect anything like that from me :v.

AriaAngelDream : I see that's pretty amazing. You and I need some serious talk on fanfics how comes like you never told me this in the past before? I know you have recently brought it up as we talked about fanfics a bit elsewhere. I know you linked me just in case I want to read any one day I'll take the time too.

ZeeTee : Well I know we talked about it before. But, as said do what you feel is right for your fanfic, and also for how it will be as well. I am sure it will get liked. I do look forward to what kind of ideas you will put into them. ^-^

I like reading stories about either the apocalypse or zombie stories. I think people's imagination of what can go wrong is so exciting. I love to read the imagination of people on what would happen when this world comes crashing down us, especially with our reliance on technology.

I'm no prepper and I don't know how long I'd last if it were the end of the world but I'd like to think I'd make it at least a month or more. I try writing it myself and I'm not nearly as good as a lot of the people out there. I'm not published, I've never been asked to participate with a website, but I have stories floating around I like to retool here and there.

I write for me. I do it because I enjoy it and I have one story I would actually consider 'good' because it's different and it hasn't really been done just yet. I read a ton so I can say I haven't heard anyone else think of the same idea.

Ghostbear1111 : I couldn't agree with you more. Its why I read them as I told a friend before. I like to see the ideas people come up with also you get to read the ones that you enjoy more of. And what you got down there is an interesting concept of how you may do it, or explained about it. I tend to write ones I like about I haven't as of yet made a fanfiction about me, but stories. So I don't really know if I am to do that soon which I don't think will really happen really. It depends if I will or not.

Oh, I don't know if everyone writes fanfictions about what they have watched or seen... I know someone in real life that only likes reading fluffy fanfictions (nothing bad, just pure fluff without any x's or anything scary like that), but refuses to write anything, even 1 simple sentence. -.- I guess they think it's too much effort or something. As I mentioned in your other thread, most of the time, when I actually write a fanfic I do try to write ones that are better or at least on par with the original stories, but I usually try to make mine more comical than anything else. =P It's not as if I really have much of a choice though... x_X Every time I'd start off with a funny story, for some reason, it would gradually begin to get a bit more serious until at some point, it would develop a serious plot on its own! D= I don't quite know how it happens, but a full story would take form (perhaps based on ideas that I'd been gathering as I was watching the anime?) and then it would literally write itself. By that, I mean that the flow of ideas won't let me stop, and if I try to take a break or think about it later, the story would disappear and be lost forever. T_T No matter how hard I try to recall it, it won't come back to me the way I'd thought about it originally. As for the topics, I generally try to explore the characters a bit more, in that I test out the scenes at the points where some plots in the anime initially appeared. So let's say that a girl could have chosen to pursue one guy but ended up pursuing another one that made less overall sense in the way the entire story had been developing. I'd try to think about everything from that girl's perspective to see what the artists may have thought they'd written/drawn into the story, but actually completely left out. One example of this would probably be the series called Vampire Knight. The series started off okay and some of its relationships seemed to be making decent progress, but at every turn, the artist would hit the reader with a decision that often makes all of the readers rage and wonder if the main character girl actually has any decision-making abilities (sorry to be so harsh, but I really do feel like I need to convey why no one should start that series at all, even for the lolz). Most of the time, it felt like the artist thought about or knew about some important information that could only be revealed later, but they neglected to address any of it for the first part of the story when readers absolutely needed at least 1 tiny hint to be able to continue with the story (or some things would start to break apart and not make any sense). As it turns out, the artist did eventually reveal a few things... but only in the omakes. -.- To make matters worse, the "humor" that's employed isn't actually funny x_X unless you decide to connect some "naughty" ideas in your head, and it feels like the artist still leaves out details even while giving details (probably to keep people from shipping certain characters), so in the end, we really end up learn nothing at all...

To save you the trouble of trying to figure out what I mean, suffice to say that everything would make much more sense if, halfway through the story, you remove the main girl character and have the two male guys that were vying for her attention end up going out with each other instead. ^__^ Sounds strange, doesn't it? But it really would make for a better overall story... XD

Anyways, since I (obviously) wasn't a fan of the way the series ended, I decided to write an alternative universe scenario for the entire story. It started off as a light romantic comedy in a school setting, but somehow, as I kept writing, it started becoming more serious until it eventually morphed into an entirely new series complete with filmmaking and stuff. D= Now, it's turned into an all-out war between several secret research factions that are trying to get their hands on some ground-breaking scientific data that one of the main characters with amnesia hid before they lost their memory. ^^0 I really... don't know how the story changed so much. XD In any case, my favorite genres for anime and manga tend to be action, comedy, a tiny bit of romance (like this _ much), science fiction, and a tiny bit of fantasy or magic so that's generally what I end up writing about, even if the stories always try to change themselves. I have accidentally written a few darker fics when I was feeling down or upset, but I don't like to write those since I don't feel like I can show anyone anything that doesn't bring some joy or happiness to anyone that reads them. Most of the time, after I write those, I just turn them into a comedy fic again or destroy them. rofl The criteria I use to decide if I want to keep a story? Hm... I imagine myself reading the story out loud to a group of people, and if I think that either I or they would be too embarrassed to keep listening, then I drop that story because that means there's no way I could bring myself to publish such a story, much less advertise it. All this aside though, there have been times when I do consciously set out to write a darker fic in order to analyze and understand each facet of some of the villains or shadier characters (those fics will never see the light of day though). However, since this is supposed to be a more light-hearted discussion, I won't go into detail about these kinds of fics. I will say though, that if a darker fic is truly well-written, whoever reads it will usually end up questioning their own morals and values, and those that are still more impressionable or that haven't established their own value systems yet may sometimes end up deciding to "give up on life" or "trust no one" in the world. Not everyone can escape from those kinds of fics unscathed, so I really don't recommend anyone read or write them unless they really know what they're doing, odd as it may sound.

Yuna1000 : Yuna.....wow this is uh....I didn't reply back sooner because this is a lot of words to take in. I know you really like to speak your mind when it come to different types of threads. I will take some of what you have said here, but won't be able to reply back to all of what you said. So from my understanding you do make fanfictions. But then at times when you stop you either lose some of the story as you said would disappear and be lost forever. I can understand what you mean by that since well. I am still doing my digimon fanfiction. As we speak I often get stuck on some chapters I do, because my head would go blank, and I would run out of ideas somehow. I say to myself I come back to it when I can. I make sure I do this time around so I don't forget what I am doing. If I do, I end up rereading my chapters to give me like a small reminder of what I am doing.
