Who else loves DURARARA!!?! Okay, sorry, that was not the real question. (But you can still answer it if you'd like to. )

I watched Durarara!! Season 1 and Season 2 a while ago, but a friend and I started to talk about which season was actually the better of the two. Apparently, she'd started reading the manga so she was also revising her opinion of the entire series so I thought I'd ask the people of Vizzed that watched this anime if you enjoyed Season 1 or Season 2 more and why.

[Be forewarned that there may be some spoilers because this is a discussion after all. However, if you do need to mention some heavier spoilers, please place the text in spoiler tags. Thank you in advance for your cooperation! ]

Personally, I liked Season 1 more because everything made more sense (well, the entire series makes as much sense as a series could possibly make after one adds
Spoiler:
a fairy from Ireland, a cosplayer, a pyromaniac, an excessively strong human being, three ninjas (or 2 if the female ones don't count as separate entities), a cursed sword, several Russian sushi chefs, a super hacker
and more to a mix of everything that already doesn't make any sense in Ikebukuro). I love the funny little moments when a certain character would make the most random movements (for instance, when he pretends to be driving a vehicle, or walks across a narrow space at the top of a building while waving his arms), all of which somehow/sadly seemed to be missing from Season 2. Although I've also heard other people mention how the art for Season 2 doesn't do the series justice, I figured it still got the main points across so I didn't deduct as many points for it.

How about you? What did you think? Have you seen both seasons, or are you planning to at some point?

I only watched one episode, and I enjoyed it, but I never really got into it, as I tend to do when I have an anime higher up on my watch list. I liked it, I plan on finishing it later, that's pretty much it. xD

I absolutely love the series my self. I've seen the first season, and the first 2 parts of 3 of the second one ( the third part wasn't released yet, even in Japanese, when I started it ).

The show has a huge cast of main / significant characters, and blends their stories together in such a beautiful way. I like the fact that for the most part, it's set in a very realistic world, even if some of the characters are a little over the top for the world they are placed in ( in terms of what they can do or their powers / abilities ).

I always loved the concept of a Dullahan, even before I had seen the show, and Celty is one of the most relatable characters I've ever seen. The way she gets scared every time the biker cop chases her is hilarious lol.

Izaya has the same feel to him as Light Yagami ( Kira ) from Death Note, as well as Lelouch from Code Geass ( and the same voice actor as the latter as well ). All three of them are among my favorite characters ever depicted in anime. His schemes and the way he works things from behind the scenes is always some thing I enjoy watching in any show, especially with a character with his personality. Plus the fight scenes between him and Shizuo are extremely funny XD

I really love the entire cast, and could do a run down of them all like this, but I'll leave it at that for every one else's sake lol. Oh yeah, and all the intro / outro music and animations for the series are great as well. There's really nothing bad about the series in any way, at least in my opinion
