Recently there was a hashtag going around about a decently well-known YouTuber named Marina Joyce. She was feared to either have been kidnapped, absued, or drugged up as her past videos have been very off-putting compared to her past ones. Over night the issue slowly got worse and worse but eventually police confirmed that she was okay. However she seems to be more concerned about the fact her channel has "blown up" rather than addressing concerns about the whole thing as she seemed to have taken her time before finally coming out to say she was okay.

So this big controversy got me thinking about how a lot of YouTubers have been under "fire" lately, good or bad. Keemstar with the constant hate being fired towards him (of course I think it's well deserved considering what he's done, but I'm not trying to discuss my opinion about that), boogie2988 being hacked as far as getting his channel deleted and h3h3productions just barely stopping hackers from doing the same thing to him. I can still name a few but for the sake of being brief we'll leave it at that.

What do you think about the sudden "attacks" on, or "cries for attention" by YouTubers?

If I am being honest I find some of these youtuber's attack a bit too suspicious. Youtube is more than a community now, for a lot of people it has become a full blown job. And so any attention they get is fine.

On the Marina Joyce thing, there's evidence that points to her being 100% safe, save for a few attacks she inflicted on herself. Plus the whole drug thing.
But I feel like she went along with it. Maybe at first it wasn't her intention, but she seemed to ride the attention train a bit too much.

Keemstar is a bit different. He has a "There is no such thing as bad publicity" complex and takes it to eleven. In his eyes, even if he is seen as a terrible person, it gains him views and attention, resulting in more money. This is just speculation of course, but you can see where I'm coming from. Or he's just a giant ass.

Didn't read into much of the whole Marina Joyce thing, but something seems very skeptical. As for Keemstar, well we have a thread on him already, and he's trash. Boogie2988, while I am not a fan, he being hacked looked legit, and he seems like a nice guy, but at times can be a bit of an attention whore. The whole h3h3productions hacking deal was a bit odd, but at the same time, I feel that was legit.

Anymore people will do what they can to get their name out there, personally I think it's pretty easy to see what is legit and what is a cry for attention.
