(As a show of good manners, I'm going to type some information about the collective here too.)
Animal Collective is an experimental pop band formed in Maryland, 2003.
Their music is characterized by "studio experimentation, vocal harmonies and experimentation of different genres". (Wikipedia)
They had a big hit with the album "Merriweather Post Pavilion". It is also their "easiest-to-access" work.
It is notable that every single one of their albums is both different and the same in some way. They constantly try new things, yet stay faithful to their roots.

Well, I never expected to see an AnCo thread on Vizzed, that's for sure. Also never expected anybody to have a Mac Plus profile picture.

Animal Collective has become one of my favorite musical acts this year. I copped a copy of Merriweather Post Pavilion and my friends all have copies of albums like Sung Tongs and Strawberry Jam.

Summertime Clothes, Graze, and Peacebone are my favorite songs by them.

Their newest album, Painting With was one of the strangest albums by them, not just because of how much it differed from their normal work, but because of how ridiculously accessible it was. It didn't really pop to me but a lot of the songs were quite catchy and friendly to people who never heard anything like it.

Hey, I enjoyed Animal Collective quite a bit but I haven't listened to them very much recently. I'm prolly most familiar with the "easy to access" songs as you put it.
My favourite songs from them are My Girls and Bluish.

Animal Collective is my favorite band. My choice for favorite album of theirs often bounces between Feels or Strawberry Jam.

I also greatly enjoy Prospect Hummer, an EP they released alongside Sung Tongs. It's a collaboration with Vashti Bunyan, and I think the combination works perfectly. It usually isn't mentioned when discussing Animal Collective, which is really a shame.

alexanyways : I wasn't the largest fan of Painting With; I think it was a good album overall, but compared to the other works of Animal Collective, it's probably my least favorite. In discussing the direction behind the album, they mentioned that they wanted to make it like a Ramones record, in that it "just goes." In my opinion, the result was an album that never gets a breath, and not in a way that adds anything desirable to the product.
