Okay listen everyone, I'm fully aware that not all Cops are bad, but this is just getting ridiculous, three presumably innocent Black people have been shot and killed in just two days.
As it seems this guy was pulled over for a broken tail light, the police officer asked to see his ID, now this guy did have a license to carry, and had a gun holstered in his pants, but the officer clearly asked for his ID which he reached down to get and then was shot.

THERE IS BLOOD IN THIS VIDEO, DO NOT WATCH IF YOU'RE SQUEAMISH. There may also be profanity in this video.
https://youtu.be/cxyQtvv_1i8

The guy was clearly still alive at the start of this video, and the police officer was scared and confused.
The officer shot four bullets when he started freaking out.
I just felt bad for the girl...

I'm going to keep posting about these stories so long as they continue to come out in quick succession of each other.

Edit: I jumped the gun on posting this, there turns out to have also been a 4 year old with them, the mother was then arrested, and they put her and her child in the back of their car rather than getting him help, in the last clip you can hear the woman crying loudly, and her kid is trying to comfort her because they aren't old enough to know what happened.

Edit 2: Just to be completely unbiased, 4 Cops have also just been shot by snipers in Dallas. What is wrong with our society? All the officers were being very friendly, they were ambushed and killed.

Oh my god....like really?! Really?! Oh come on! This is getting more annoying now. This is really sad I saw....the guy was reaching for his ID and the cop just shot him. What is type of life getting into now? I really felt sorry for the girlfriend of the guy. >.>

Eniitan : I updated this thread as I left out some details.

Also just so no mistake can be made, all these shootings are happening in America, there's almost one a day at this point.

I'm about to look into the Sniper shooting story now, it just came out.

Eniitan : I really didn't want to have to sandwich, but no one else is up right now regardless.
Police are everywhere in America, my home town was really small and had so many officers employed that there wasnt much use for most of them.

Police officers aren't bad by nature, it's really a problem of how our police are trained, a lot of the training involves really quick reactions, so if a copy is fearful or emotionally unstable they may end up doing something like this.
And no, I wouldn't personally reccomend calling the Cops in America unless absolutely necessary, most of the Cops I've met were extremely defensive and confrontational.

And now it looks like a bunch of people are so angry at the police in general for all the shootings going on, that some terrorist group decided it's time to start killing innocent police officers, I'm lucky The United States is so massive, if things were going on like this in a small Country it would look like a war zone.

pennylessz : Its fine geeo told you its fine to a certain way. Anyways. I kind of sensed that would be the thing for America. I mean I thought maybe by now they would had improved on that? I guess I was wrong....but I do hope things would take a better turn in that area in the right way. But hey anything can happen. So we just have to wait and see on that. I am really sorry to hear how things are with how the police works in those kinds of ways. They are not bad by nature its just....how they were trained as you said. '-'

So, what happened to that thread you were looking into about the 5 police that were killed by a sniper/snipers?

Eniitan : Its not the training... I've been in law enforcement for 7 years and haven't even taken my gun out of its holster while on duty...

Vanelan : Are you sure every police department trains like that? There is of course a lot of them.
I'm just not sure about it, this happens more in the US than elsewhere, and even if we were smaller it happens more by size ratio too.
Are you suggesting this relates to our current State of mental health?

I'm not really sure how one particular officer is a bad officer every day of the year, there's some other component to it.

Edit: Also I'm waiting for more details to come in, I could make another thread if you like, or we could discuss it here.

Eniitan :

I think you're a little mistaken. This doesn't only happen in America. It's just most common I think, which sucks. But yeah, I'm pretty sure this has happened in other places at some point in time as well.

I haven't posted this here, but I did in the other thread, this cop has basically been proven innocent. While the man was pulled over for a broken tail light, it was also because he, and his vehicle, matched the description of the suspect of an armed robbery. While the man did have his concealed carry licence, he was reaching for his gun, because if he handed over his identification he'd have been arrested. The cop, in the video, makes it very clear that he told the man to get his hands off the weapon.

So yet again, I side with the police on this one. The shooting was completely justified here, and the officer was shooting in self defense. And I still find it weird how calm the woman's girlfriend was, as if she were scolding a child or something. She really didn't seem to care that much, and that really, really throws me off.

I honestly side with police on both the baton rouge shooting and the falcon heights shooting and here is why.

lets start with Alton Sterling, the police responded to a call of a man selling "bootlegged" CD's and threatening people with a gun. So naturally the police show up and find a man matching the description and approach with caution. When approaching they order him to the ground which he refuses or ignores (I never heard him verbally refuse but video quality was rather poor) than after he ignores the order the second time officers forcefully took him to the ground. Which any LEO would do knowing the man is armed. THEN after they take him down he can clearly be seen struggling with police trying to break free. While this is happening on officer says "he has a gun" while the struggle continues the other officer pulls his gun with a warning to stop resisting, and shortly after shoots Mr. Sterling. NOTE: Mr. Sterling was actually carrying a firearm illegally and was a repeat offender.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uABxTX0drFk full video warning very graphic.

now lets talk about the falcon heights Minnesota shooting of  Philando Castile ill start with that this was a good man who simply made a fatal mistake at a traffic stop. Philando Castile should have kept his hand on the steering wheel while informing the officer that he was legally carrying a weapon this way you are up front and not any kind of threat. In the video the woman clearly states that he was reaching for his ID when informing the officer he was legally carrying a gun ( and when at a traffic stop id avoid using the gun word at all)  which clearly startled the officer. Now let me also say that the officer COULD have been a little more trusting but in this case they where also pulling over a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle leaving an armed robbery which would have officers on edge to begin with. All in all falcon heights shooting was very tragic and I feel sorry for his daughter and the mother of his child who where both present at the time of the shooting and detained shortly after.

but all in all when interacting with police its of the utmost importance to be first completely compliant, and second avoid reaching anywhere while in a traffic stop before notifying police that you are armed (if that is the case). Because both these incidents could've been 100% preventable.

lets be serious here guys under no circumstance should you resist police while armed, submit and have your day in court.

Titan127 : I'm sorry but this time you're absolutely lying, he was not wanted for armed robbery the license plate didn't match.

http://www.snopes.com/philando-castile-was-not-wanted-for-armed-robbery/

“The two occupants just look like people that were involved in a robbery,” the officer says. “The driver looks more like one of our suspects, just ‘cause of the wide set nose,” the officer continues.

Do you get your news from Conservative Treehouse? Because they lied.

pennylessz : He sure did resemble him though, and if the car matched, then they had every right to pull him over. I am not lying so much as I am misinformed, and I still trust the officer's word over the girlfriend who sounded like she didn't care about her husband's death by far.

Titan127 : Okay, if you're misinformed then that's excusable.
Regardless it was her boyfriend, she thought he was shot in the arm, he wasn't, it was fatal. She was then in shock, and it shows in a later clip in the video I posted that she did freak out once the initial shock wore off.
Still I wouldn't want to be shot because I look like someone else. I think that actually should at least be considered manslaughter.

kennethg : Do you have a source for Alton Sterling having a gun? I can't find one, I found some pictures, but they weren't actually him, the men just look very similar. In the clip it did show someone reaching into his pocket, but you can't see what it is they're taking, if they are.
Also the last time he did something criminal was supposedly 16 or so years ago? And I find it dumb as heck to conceive that anyone would actually think they could reach down and pull out a gun, and shoot three officers while you have a gun aimed on you.
So I doubt he was reaching for a gun even if he had one.
Titan127 : Okay, if you're misinformed then that's excusable.

pennylessz : According to the officer, he still went for a gun, and as such I still say that the officer was justified in shooting him.

And for the record, Alton Sterling did have a gun.

Do you know what he did when he was a criminal? You should, I posted it in your other thread. He was a child molester. Alton Sterling should've been hanged before any of this ever had a chance to happen. He reached for the gun, that's pretty much been confirmed at this point. It was likely in desperation, as if he were caught by the police with a gun then he'd have been absolutely done since he was on probation.

While I don't approve of this source, and don't trust it, I'll use it just because you did, and I'll assume that you trust it. Like I said, this guy was a thug, and I don't know why anyone's upset about his demise. I'm personally happy to have scum like him off the streets. Drug possesion, multiple simple battery, destruction of property, theft, domestic violence, and a sex offender.

Titan127 : I'm not sure where it was proven that he had a gun, do you have a source for that too? I was not aware of the exact specifics of his record, but he never shot anyone, so it's not fully relevant.
As for him being hanged, hanging is cruelty, the person is still alive for seconds after it starts, and a lot of people just ended up choking to death because it cant be guaranteed that they would break their neck, just like how the electric chair set some people on fire. Euthanasia is the appropriate method for Government murder, but it costs more than just keeping them in jail.

Still it's sad when people in possession of weed can go to jail for life, and he was only in jail for four years.

And with the car shooting case, of course the officer is going to claim he was reaching for his gun, that's why he shot him. But why would he have notified the officer first, and if he wasn't implicit of criminal offense, why would he try to shoot an officer anyway?

Also I'd like to know what trusted sources you have for your information, because I trust snopes more than politifact, but you can never be too sure when it's a US site because of corporate control.

pennylessz : They removed the fun from his pocket after shooting him. But in a lot of the new articles they don't even mention it which really grinds me. Almost like the media is trying to throw metaphorical gas on our metaphorical fire.
