So, for the 4th of July, my original plan was to stay in all day. I already had an epic weekend full of fireworks, theme parks, arcades, beaches, baseball games, epic movies, and more. But by the time 6PM came Monday afternoon, I said “Screw it” and I decided to head to Manhattan to see if I can watch the fireworks. I never went to see the fireworks before so I didn’t think I would be able to get a good spot, but even though there was literally 200,000 people, I was able to get a really nice view, right on the edge of the island by the river, literally less than 2 blocks from where the fireworks were going off.

Every time I see fireworks, like when I’m at a baseball game, I’m like “OMG, those were the best things ever” and I think they are awesome, but nothing could have prepared me for how awesome the Macy’s fireworks were going to be up close and in person. I was NOT expecting something so massive, maybe 10 times bigger and more exciting than any of the massive fireworks that I have been to before. The fireworks lasted for 25 minutes, and I took 2 small one minute videos of them and uploaded them to YouTube and I’ll post the links here, as well as a few pictures that I think are the best.

I also went up to the Empire State Building and took a cool picture of it at night just for the heck of it.

In total, the videos combine for about 150 seconds. And some of the videos look really really awesome!

zanderlex : Thanks for sharing, zander! Those were some beautiful fireworks! I didn't go watch any in real life this year, just watched some on tv lol and now I watched yours

That looks awesome!! It reminds me of something we do around here every year in the fall. A local radio station puts on a huge fireworks show down by the Ohio River in Cincinnati and it is truly an epic experience. If it wasn't so crowded when the event goes on, it would be absolutely perfect, but that just goes to show you how amazing it is when that many people show up in person to see it (it's also televised, so you don't HAVE to be there in person).

Oh my god...that looks so glorious...its been so many years since I have gone to see any fireworks sadly. Maybe I can this year if I plan something well ahead of time. Thanks for making this thread. The firework colours are really pretty and beautiful to look at. That's the thing I have always loved about fireworks the different kinds of colours that are express through it in the air. @.@
