Everytime that I post a url in a thread, the editor automatically puts a [url] bracket on

Even if I put a different bracket around it like youtube it will just put the url bracket around the YouTube bracket. 
One time I posted a link to a picture, and it actually came out as an image, but I just wanted to post a url, however I had to try for twenty minutes to get it to stop automatically putting an img bracket around it.

Is there a way to solve this?

Have you tried posting the link and letting it post however it wants and then going into the post editor and editing out the img tags and seeing if that would work? I never tried it so i wouldn't know if its guaranteed, but who knows, maybe it would work. I do hate when that happens though, but I just accepted it. When I take pictures and I want to show them in a post, I don't bother uploading them, I just take a screenshot of the pic with puush and then post the puush url and the same thing happens and it gets annoying because the pics sometimes take up these massive sizes that you don't need.

Honestly whenever I try to post links I just use the < a > tags. It allows you to add text to a url, exactly like this. You can do it with any form of media too.

It's <+a href=put url here>put text here<+/a>, minus the plus signs.
