Hi guys I don't know if a thread of this has been made. If it has then please close this one. Anyways what are your favourite ps2 games? I mostly see questions for like modern game consoles. And I also feel talking about this type has been like dying down a bit. So I would like to bring it up. If you can list yours and explaining why they are your favourites.  I'll start first

Final Fantasy X - Now this game is too beautiful words cannot describe how much I feel for this game and the amount of love I have for it. Since its one of the best games ever to play. I've always loved this game from when I first played it. It really is worth playing because of everything the game has to offer for you. It draws you somehow. I am not sure the right word to describe it.


Kingdom Hearts 2 - I love this game because of how the game was made everything to it. Is what I would play for especially the gameplay and story mode. Who wouldn't want to play a game like this? Its fun and also display cool amount of characters that you would come to like and adore as well.


Gitaroo Man - Not a well know game or popular either. Its a jrpg game and a really great one at that its a rhythm music game actually. This is something I played in my childhood days. I enjoyed playing it so much because of what the game had to offer. Sadly I couldn't play the full game back then.


Sonic Heroes - This is another favourite of mine to play. I never got to play sonic adventure at the time so this came close to it. Since the game is based on the graphics for sonic adventure. Anyways the game is really fun with great music. I don't get why it doesn't get the right attention that it needs but this game is simply amazing to play.



Ok that's mine what about you? Don't list too many please just the list about 5 you are attached too the most.

My favorite PS2 game would have to be metropolismania. Its basically a city building game but so much better. You get to go around your city, and you also get to talk to all of the residents of your city, and if you get to talk to them a lot and they like you, they invite friends over, which is how you make your city bigger. You basically build a city while basically playing am RPG at the same time and it was so much fun.

This is a no brainer for me, Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2 are easily my favorite PS2 games as Dark Cloud 2 is generally my favorite game.

Gameplay Spoiler Alert: In Dark Cloud 2 you get to collect pieces of towns in dungeons you explore, and restore the land to the way it was, you can also go into the future and see how it will turn out. You can bring people along with you on your journey by recruiting them in various manners, such as finding a safe combinations. You have a camera that let's you take pictures, and you can combine pictures of objects to make new items and weapons to craft. You can synthesise items into your weapons to make them new and more interesting, and you can even befriend monsters and then play as them. The combat isn't Pokémon mystery Dungeon style either, it's full on action RPG.

zanderlex : Oh that game sounds really interesting I might have to look that up to see if its the type of game I would play. I hope it is good to play by the way you are describing it. I'm sure I would like the game because games like that should catch my interest. Its sad how I have never come across this game before. So thank you of saying of this game. ^-^

pennylessz : That's cool! Dark cloud is my favourite game the first one. I don't really plan on playing the second one since it doesn't really catch my interest for it sadly....I liked the first game more. Because I remember playing it on a ps1 demo disc before getting the full game of it.

Eniitan : I loves both the 1st and the 2nd game but apparently there was a 3rd game that was so much better but it was only released in Japan, apparently Murica wasn't good enough for it.

pennylessz : "You get to collect pieces of towns" what do you mean by that? What pieces could possibly be collected? When I first read that I imagined a little guy carrying around a house on his back, but I'm almost positive that can't Be what it is, right?

I dunno if its my favorite of all time, but Metal Gear Solid 3 is definitely in my top 5.

zanderlex : Ah.....that may explain somethings. Thank you for taking the tim to answer my question to do with the game. Sorry to hear that the 3rd release of the game wasn't allowed to be in America... :/
But still when I can I'll look it up and let you know my thoughts about it. I can't do that now I am doing something else.

Vanelan : Oh that game! You know. I watched my brother play the game. It was weird at first when I was watching it. Because I didn't know what to say. But as I kept watching my brother play the game I grew to like it more. Asking question of what the game is about the story plot and the gameplay as well.

Sadly back then I never got into the game when I should. '-'

zanderlex : Well you get parts of scattered towns out of chests you find in the dungeons, these are parts contained in Georama that look like Pokeballs. After you've collected the Georama you can go out into the destroyed town, and can place down houses, lamp posts, roads ect. basically anywhere you want in a similar manner to a sim city game.
You also collect parts to houses that you can fit in a menu showing a person's house like a puzzle piece. Villagers are also trapped in Georama, so you have to place them in their former house before the Village was destroyed. The Villagers want the village to be a certain way, so in order to 100% complete the town you need to listen to what they want, like where they want to be or what they want around their house.

This is all relevant to the story as the entire world was basically destroyed by the Dark Genie like in the first game, but in Dark Cloud 2 your character isn't a silent protagonist, and the characters and story have real emotional depth.

Chronologically, MGS 3's story is the beginning, so you wouldn't need to necessarily play any other game before it. :3

pennylessz : Hmm all right then, this game gets my vote, sign me up. I love anything that has to so with building cities so I might check this game out if I get a chance to. Do you know if this game also has a port for the Vita? I have a PS4 but I'd definitely play this game a lot if it's for the Vita, or even if there's a PC port of it. City and town building is my jam, just ask my 2000 hour Minecraft world.

Vanelan Ah....ok thanks van I'll put it in my notes so I don't forget to by the game when I can to try it out I actually might like the game in all honesty. I should had really played before. But I guess I was exploring other things. So I didn't get that option of being able to play it. But now I can. And when I do I'll give you my thoughts and experiences of the game how I liked it, and what parts I loved about it..

zanderlex : I thought you could cross play between PS4 and Vita? Otherwise I can't find anything about it being on a portable, it's a Level-5 game that was released on Ps2 then ported to PS4. The reason I put up a thread asking to buy it with Viz was because I have to sell all my non digital games, which doesn't matter because I recently found out my girlfriend lost it somehow while moving our games to our new apartment.

It sort of takes awhile to get to the building, and there's no Economy or anything but having the towns feel your creative touch is pretty fun.

I will warn you before you go into it, there are annoying things that might frustrate you if/when you first play.

You NEED food... not having food will make things a lot harder... and I learned the hard way, right in the beginning of the game, alligators are fast.

Vanelan : Yeah I remember my brother struggling with that. That was the main thing for snakes health, and when you don't have food you are in big trouble. That was all I can remember ruffly from that. Thanks for reminding me I'll make sure there is plenty for snake so he wouldn't run out of any.

I haven't played too many PS2 games since my PS2 died around 2011, and before that I was still a young kid so I didn't really know what games were truly good or fun to play and what games weren't, so it looks like for this post I'm going to have to rely mostly on nostalgia...sorry...
 
My favorite game on the PS2 would probably be Lego Star Wars. See? I told you it would be mostly nostalgia, heh. Me and my brother used to play that together all the time and it was really fun being all the different types of characters and sometimes even killing each other on purpose. 

Lexatom : Well its ok....I mean you stated a game and such. So I can pretty much understand your circumstances. It wouldn't mean I would be cruel to say  don't post here or something like that. It can happen to anyone so its fine.

pennylessz : I don't think Cross play is really as easy as you might think. If I'm not mistaken, you need to have your PS4, on and running the game at all times, plus the two systems need to be on the same internet, so unless you have internet that comes with those portable things, you can only play it at home. Plus the quality might also take a huge hit playing the same game on a screen that's probably 20 times smaller, and since you're playing over internet it could be even worse

Also why haven't you asked David to change your name to Dark Cloud yet? It seems to be the only thing you have talked about in every thread lol :p

zanderlex : Eh only about five threads I believe, I also talked about Fable and Suikoden II in another thread. I talk about it a lot because I think it's a widely overlooked gem, I think I'll run out of Steam for discussion about it soon enough.

And move on to my second favorite PS2 game Disgaea: Hour of Darkness huh, huh?

Favorite is nfl street simply because of memories. And it was one of the few games I had and knew how to use. It was either that, some nba game, some baseball game, or lord of the rings

Mangepic : Nice! Its really cool to see you played the games that you enjoy. I wouldn't really play those games because that I'm quite picky with what I love to play. My brother gave me lord of the rings but never played it. I enjoy more of the games I personally am attached too. Since that way its more enjoyable for me to play. Than to get games I wouldn't want to play and force myself too.
