I'm still not used to getting a bunch of notifications in a row from this thread XD The amount of posts it takes to win a blue jersey is still over 100. I would like to win a blue jersey this month but I'll have to wait until the competition dies down. Hopefully that won't happen much since the site needs all this activity, but if it does I might go for the blue

It's nice that we keep having more users place in the jerseys. But I think we really should have a new user enter the competition too so there can be a white banner winner.

I'm barely hanging on to my top 5 spots in 3 out of the 4 jerseys Maybe I can earn more points today because I'm still on my posting spree and posts are today's double CP action! Another thing is that I'm one point away from being bumped down to 7th place overall so I should increase my lead.

Titan127 : Woohoo, a new competitor! I've been averaging around 40 posts per day (after my 116 posts on Wednesday) so I think you and I could have a bit of a rivalry with blue jersey points.

Pacman+Mariofan : lol maybe. I think I hit my record highest posts yesterday at twenty four, and my record before that was fifteen, if I'm correct. I'll try to catch up, so we'll see how that goes. I just want to get onto the big old graph and be recognized. 
Maybe I'll pull it off, maybe not. You never know.

Pacman+Mariofan : I think David once got 1600+ actions though that might've been the time there was the whole controversy about it being unfair. IWhich I don't care enough for to try and beat especially since I'd probably have to be glued to my laptop all day to do so. Other than though I'm fairly certain this is the highest anyone has ever reached. I deliberately went for it as people can probably tell since I stopped at exactly 1000. It's been a goal of mine since the last summer TdV where I think the highest I managed to reach was maybe 800+. I was already going for the 7 pointer so I figured I might as well make the extra effort.

I was also going to go for winning green every day but that was cut short since a bad day caused me to not compete which was also what cost me the lead in the first place since it was a slow day and cox managed to take advantage and  get a 7 pointer. Had that not happened though I might've not gone for that 7 pointer or 1000 actions to get the lead back so everything has its ups and downs I guess.

Too bad about the white banner though. I feel like in recent years it has mostly just become about whoever is lucky enough to register during the TdV and a few of the people trying have even been reregs. Hopefully someone shows up and wins it in stead of this being the second TdV where that doesn't happen.

Zlinqxthecooluser™ : I don't remember that so I might have missed it. I think 1,600 will take at least a year to beat after this month since 1,000 is likely really hard for most users to hit.

Yeah, I think it could also be that the new users don't want to read all the rules of this competition and attempt to gain points without getting DQ'd.

Pacman+Mariofan : I plan to, but I'm running just a teensy bit behind schedule today, which is never fun! This post helps though, so off I go to get thirty posts and a lot of words, because I need more points! I'm a greedy little bastard, you see?

I feel like new users aren't really going to post too much though, which makes it kind of tough for them to get on the leaderboard, plus they'd be posting in forums that can, like you said, get them DQ'd pretty quick. Most new users probably join just because for one, it's a pretty cool site, two because we've got help forums, debates, and pretty much everything that you could possibly ask for or, three, which is why I did, to communicate with a friend who has an account on here.

That was SMBLOZ123 for me, he's cool, plus I'd have never discovered vizzed without him!

Titan127 : I think most new users just post in the newbie forum to start out and then they don't post in the other forums until a while after that. In the past few TdV's, almost every white banner winner started out (and some ended with) earning points on accident. They had no idea that the TdV existed until they got summoned to this thread XD

Pacman+Mariofan : I think it's near impossible for a lot of people who don't have access to higher caps, at least for people who are trusted and below. It's easier for someone like me or David who have higher caps on actions. As well as us being able to do some actions like adding and editing characters much quicker than a normal member who has to wait for their submissions to get approved by staff.

As for the white banner, I'm thinking it has more to do with most users not feeling like or knowing enough about the site to go for getting points in the TdV. I doubt most of those who have in the past spent a ton of time reading about the rules before doing so.

Pacman+Mariofan : That's probably true. I haven't really competed until this year, since, like I said, I was really only here for the communication with a friend, but I've started posting a little more when I've got the time. I kind of just like seeing my name on the leader boards, honestly. 
I might actually try and win a jersey one of these days, but I don't think I'll go there in this one. Posting that much is not easy for me, but maybe some day I'll find a way.

Actually, I was hoping that the NFL thread would be more active, because I think I could win the words in a day if I put all my season predictions into that. But unfortunately, I'm the last one who posted there and no one else really seems to care all that much. I don't watch regular seasons of sports except for football though, so I don't keep up with the others, which is probably why no one else wants to post there.

Man, the yellow and red jerseys are still getting insane totals each day. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if I'll be able to get any jerseys in those colors this time around when it's all said and done?

Wasn't there, once upon a time, a suggestion to send newbies that would qualify for the white banner an automated message to invite them for Tour de Vizzed? Maybe that would increase competition a little.

Otherwise, I still can not believe the crazy competition for the blue jersey. I won a few, but I usually never try it because others usually have more to say. But now... how the hell can one post more than a 100 times without flirting with rule violations in some way?

janus : Its called knowing how to post and what to do in the tdv. If you have been on the site for years to know how to maneuver very well then of course that person will keep on going very easily. Also you have to take into account what advantages that you have for that. Not many people would think about that and go straight into the competition without any back up of any sort. So its quite possible. And that person wouldn't break the rules when one knows how to do things well.

I took a couple days off from full competing but still managed to score 30+ posts a day for a while now, so all I need to do is that, and then a little extra here an there and I can get back on track. I don't want to fall out of the top 3, so I'll have to try to have one or 2 10 point days this week.

Titan127 : You should go for a jersey, it's a nice challenge! I didn't think I would win any of the jerseys I won, but I've ended up winning 3 blue jerseys, a yellow jersey, and a red jersey.

janus : Adding to what Eniitan explained, it can depend on how many threads are available for you to post in and how many times you can post in each thread. It can also depend on how many threads you can create that don't get closed. I reached 116 posts on Wednesday because I created some threads, posted a lot in my own threads, and found many other threads to post in, some of which I also posted in multiple times to respond to other users.

zanderlex : You got your revenge on me yesterday even if you didn't intend to. A few days I beat you in the blue jersey by one post, and yesterday you bumped me out of the blue jersey top 5 by making 4 more posts than I did. I didn't even bother doing anything about it since I got really burnt out and I have no idea why. My excitement and energy is back today though!

Okay maybe not epic, but you get my drift. Plus I'll be way more accomplished if I can pull that off. I don't know how far I can go above thirty posts, but I might be able to win it with words, I think that's either the yellow jersey or the blue jersey. *cracks knuckles*

Let's get this show on the road.

For every spot in the overall top 5 there's a 10+ point gap. I'm not sure why, but I got really burnt out last night and fell out of the top 5 in both yellow and blue jersey. At least I'm still in the overall top 5 for both.

This level of competition, especially for the yellow jersey, is showing no signs of cooling down. After last night's burnout I think today will be my last day competing for a little while, I'm getting tired again and I should take a break before I lose motivation to post entirely :/

Titan127 : I'm glad I've been motivating you to try so hard in this TdV! I find it easier to get points in the yellow jersey usually, mainly when I post game reviews. But it's fun to get points in both yellow and blue!

Well, something came up and I'm probably going to be gone for half of the day. To be honest though, this is probably a blessing. I'm feeling extremely burnt out today, so taking a little break and just clearing my mind for a while should really help when I get back into it.

That's not say I won't be going for some points all around, I just doubt I'll actually win any Jerseys today

Mynamescox44 : That's similar to what happened to me 3 days in a row last week XD The first 2 days of the month I was gone on a mission trip so I couldn't even visit the site at all, but I was still having fun so it was worth it. On the 3rd-5th I really wanted to start competing in this TdV but my family had plans for me all 3 of those days and I didn't think those days would be a good time to start yet.

Then on the 6th I finally had a day mostly filled with free time and I just went nuts with the posting I hope you'll feel ready to compete again when you get back!

Pacman+Mariofan : Yeah, unfortunately I wasn't able to post much today, and I'm not sure I will be able to tomorrow, either, but I'm going to try to at least get a couple of points tonight and make some progress. With football for the next few days I won't make much progress, but on Thursday I should be able to make a jersey run, and that's exactly what I intend to do.

Seriously though, thanks for all the motivation, it's really fun to have this competition, and it being a friendly one only makes it all the better.
