I lean right on the political spectrum for America, but I refuse to vote for Trump. I was resigned to vote for Hillary against Trump, but her policies do not align themselves with an acceptable political philosophy. I therefore went to investigate third parties and found this beautiful pearl. The Modern Whigs are intelligent and their platform is extensive. They are a collection of centrist third parties that began as single issue groups who combined into a larger, more formidable foe.

This is a party I can actually support. They use history, science, and logic in an anti-radical way to present a reasonable, respectable platform.

Txgangsta : Thank you for bringing this! I am in the same boat as you. I really like what they want to do with education- I mean all those years wasted because they don't prepare you for college or careers- it should all work together. I like more time off for maternity leave as it is crucial years of the child's growth. It seems to stir a better life balance as opposed to work work and go to school to pass tests. Cutting ties and connections of government officials once they leave office also is a great and needed change. Crooks. We need alternative energy and it's insane we don't have more considering we have all types of weathers throughout the state. government held responsible to the people is a must.  I like this party of course will look more into the people behind it but, so far it encompasses a lot of my ideas. I shared this with friends to discuss more but, better than those two idiots.

I will read more about their stand on major issues.

I skimmed through the policies and while I don't agree with all of them I do find this sort of a platform much more appealing than either of the major parties are giving out. It's too bad the US basically still only has 2 parties and the other parties have next to no chance of winning.

I think it's a nice idea and they're trying but I think there is a reason the two-party system is so successful in the United States and Whigs, Libertarians, U.S. Tax Payers, Socialists, and other political groups don't stand a chance when it comes to winning large percentages of seats at the gubernatorial level, the federal congressional and senatorial level, and especially the presidency. I can see certain states with a specific style and culture in their population having a scattering of parties (Lookin' at you, Oregon, you weirdos) and that'll be fine. But the odds of anyone outside the two Big Boy Parties winning federal seats is next to nothing.

I just looked at the 2017 line-up. There are 2 Senators and 0 Congresspersons who represent a party outside the Democrats or Republicans.

Whigs? Nice idea on paper. No chance to survive in reality.
