I would go for new generation gaming only because I like the advancement of all technology. I love the way the gaming as advanced games today are so complex and the graphics are just outstanding. Now don't get me wrong I love retro games to though they had all the fun. Newer games are turning out to be more simulation rather then games it's like they are trying to add a learning experience as well as a gaming one. That way no one can say games eat at your brain you actually need a brain to play some of these new games nowadays!!

I'd have to say the middle-generation games were the best. Systems like the original Playstation, the Genesis, and the N64. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good newer generation games, but fewer fresh ideas.

An I somewhat agree with you because a lot of good games came out of the 8-bit and 16-bit era and the new generation ones have sucked a lot only with a a select few good. I'd have to say whatever generations that the SNES is in. Obviously it's retro, but, as stated elsewhere on this website, in 30 years, PS3 will be retro. So I'll have to stay with my favorite system's era.

To add to this thread, even if this generation of consoles became retro one day it wouldn't be the same.
And it isn't really possible with the 360 what with it's fail rate, all the 360s will be dead by the time the console can be considered "retro"
