I'm in the process of recovering all the RGR games, should all be back up within an hour. Unfortunately all ratings made within the past 2 weeks will no longer be there but that's something we can live with.

Basically I was re-doing the rating system earlier today and all of a sudden something I did cleared all the ratings on the site. I couldn't live with this so I've been working on recovering the ratings from a backup from the 1st of February.

As you can see, there are some games up already, you guys will see games being added slowly, this is time consuming, I'm sorta manually adding these games with queries that contain maybe 100 or so games each.

Umm, I'll be staying up late tonight making sure this gets fixed, so maybe within the next 2 hours everything will be back. Thank God I have the Olympics to watch while doing this otherwise I'd go crazy from the boringness (and stress) of recovering these

okay, that's a relief. I've gotten PM's and threads and posts asking what is going on and if the saved games were safe.

It's nice to know they are safe and we don't have to deal with people complaining about having to start their games over.

I think this stressed a few people out. Not more than you probably... but I could tell there were some stressed out people when they couldn't play anymore.

The one problem with having a big site with so much content is that when problems do happen, they're usually really big. A good example is Demonoid (such a massive site and when they had problems, down for months).

This mess up though was due to me rushing things, I should've taken my time and tested and double checked things first but I've learned my lesson.

Also the reason why I couldn't simply restore the entire backup is because the one backup I had from earlier today would have made everything restore to previously today so I had to manually restore the games and their content and I some how messed up my most recent backup of the games so had to resort to one earlier this month.
