I'm looking at my stats currently (I'm level 22).  Some stats are much higher and lower than others (Agility, Speed, etc). They're  symbolic and truly quite mysterious. Ever since I arrived here in 2012, I've always wondered about their inner workings and mechanisms. They depict our status and splendor. They are quite visually appealing and interesting. Though, I've never truly understood them at all, despite all their prominence.  I'm wondering.... 



What goes into them? How are they affected? Are they always unbalanced? Is user activity a major factor? Thanks for helping out. I'd like to better understand this site, and this might help. If not, I want to satisfy my curiosity, please.

From my understanding Stats were supposed to be used for the vizzed battle arena or something like that, 

 It was supposed to be done sometime in the future, but I don't know the current state of the project.  Davideo7 himself is mostly busy trying to keep this site up and running, so I can't tell if he had any time to put work into the Battle arena

The battle arena has been a rumour for quite a long time, but David has rekindled his intentions of making it real as part of his plan to recover traffic after the Nintendo incident (and also as a way to give Viz a bit more value and use).

Stats can be increased through some items in the Item Shop, and technically posting as well, but this is just my thought. I do know that your level increases the more posts and words you make, but everything else is a mystery for me.

You're talking about stats, not power levels, lol, which are two different things.

Mainly it's just a combination of your level/exp, and items that you have equipped, but without a place to actually use these stats, like the battle arena, they are completely useless for now.
