The fairy tale, the impossible happening, call it whatever you want, Leicester City have now officially won the premier league.

They were able to secure the title when they faced manchester united (my team) away at old trafford, if they won that is, they drew and it didn't happen that day, then the game between spurs and chelsea, spurs had to win if they wanted to stay in the title race, it looked to be going fantastic for them as they were 2-0 up pretty fast against chelsea, but leaving gary cahill unmarked was yet another example of spurs crumbling, he made it 2-1 then eden hazard, the man that has kinda been a little in form the last few games, scores and makes it 2-2 for chelsea, the game ends and the title is now officially leicester's.

Now leicester last year were super close to relegation, but after ''the great escape'' they managed to stay in the EPL, and now thanks to passion and riyad mahrez, n'golo kante, vardy and others being brilliant they have won the EPL. Pretty damn crazy.

EDIT: changed the all-caps title.

I also support Manchester United and have been waiting all season for Leicester to falter (though have had Vardy and Mahrez in my fantasy football team for a while!). I can't believe they have actually done it, but I do think Ranieri is a great gut and deserves this great achievement. It's also going to be funny to see Gary Lineker presenting Match of the Day in his underwear haha!! I can't believe Spurs threw away a 2 goal lead tho!! I have recently moved from Melton Mowbray, just round the corner from Jamie Vardy's house. Hazard's goal was a bit special

It really will make every team believe that anything is now possible. I can't wait to see Leicester in the Champions League!! Obviously I love the fact that Kasper Schmeichel has won the premier league. I read somewhere that since Liverpool last won the league, Peter Scmeichel signed for Man Utd, won it five times, retired, had a son, who then grew up to win it!!

Same with Hazard, who wasn't born when Liverpool last won it. Arsenal are like ground hog day every season. I still don't think i'm over the pain of City's injury time goals to win the league a couple seasons back... most exciting league in the world!

While we saw this coming since the last few months, it's impressive it has finally happened.

I'm not that impressed actually, because I've seen similar situations happen in the Spanish league, probably not with a modest team like Leicester City, but with teams that aren't the top notch.

Ranieri deserves all the credit. It's through him that the players are motivated, that the players actually believed they could win. Without the right coach, even the best of teams can fall into the deepest wells, and with the right coach, even modest teams can reach heaven.

I can't wait to see how they perform in the Champions League. They are so motivated right now that no rival is too big for them. I really believe they can make it to the semi finals, at the very least, and I'm totally cheering for them if they get that far.

Yes, I know.. i was there celebrating at the stadium after we won it... for those who don't know I live in Leicester and i support them.

Firstly comparing this to something that has happened in the Spanish league RECENTLY isn't precisely fair... there's really been no huge surprise for about 16 years.... when deportivo won the league... since then 4 teams have won it with the least "likely" being Valencia about 13 years ago.

A lot of people also seem to forget the impact Nigel Pearson had... he was the one that lead the team to safety... and arguably all Claudio did was continue that form... Don't get me wrong, Claudio did an amazing job.. no doubt about it... but he doesn't deserve all the credit.

As for Leicester next season... Honestly who knows.... It really depends on what players leave and what players come in.... they could theoretically get stronger or weaker after all....

I could write about 2000 words or more on this subject but i'll just leave it at that...

I don't follow the league at all being in Canada and what not but I love hearing stories like this. I heard it is the first time they've won the entire thing since they started over 100 years ago. That is the most interesting part of this for me. I love when teams finally end a huge losing streak like that.
