Even though Mortal Kombat is dead because Midway is like bankrupt, i still go for MK. Because of the Fatalities, Animalities, Babalities, Brutalities, etc.

Street Fighter, definitly!! Athough mortal kombat is pretty good too!!

but I have to go with Street Fighter.

Gameplay was always smoother for me and I could easily learn everyones style and moves. I can actually beat SF2 for SNES on the hardest level (with some hard work and continues used) while i must admit I completely suck at Mortal Kombat. On MK everything has always just seemed soooo glitchy to me...

I do have this to say about MK though. Not too many years ago, a guy left his X-Box 1 MK game at my friends and never came back for it. When i would hang out there I would play it at night after everyone went to sleep. I went through the training and got at least average skills and it had a ton of unlockable things which gave me a reason to put some long hours into it.

Still... Street Fighter is my choice.

Street Fighter is better, no question. Have you forgotten Super Street Fighter? Epic memories. Also,the gameplay was way smoother.

I'd pick Street Fighter for the sheer amount of competivtive play. When you see two experts fighting, it is really a sight to behold~

Street fighter hands down. It had a much better engine. Mortal Kombat was only fun for the fatalities.

Mortal Kombat was more a better game because it is filled with hardcore people, like Raiden, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero, with unique moves and ability. Mortal Kombat also has funny brutalities and awesome fatalities. I was never a Street Fighter because I never played alot of those games.

To me, Mortal Kombat looks cooler than Street Fighter.

Mortal Kombat beats Street Fighter in every genre there both in. Mortal Kombat Wins! Fatality!!

Not a big fan of fighting games but I would pick Mortal Kombat as #1. A few others that are also good were Teken and Street Fighter and Dynasty Warriors.

I have to say Street Fighter because it seems to have lighter characters and has a lower rating. I like Mortal Kombat for the dark voice that says "Fatality"

I think the Street Fighter video games are the best! I have to say Mortal Kombat movies are better than Street Fighter.

I like the Mortal Kombat games better than the Street Fighter games cause Mortal Kombat is more fun to play and Fatalities own! The Mortal Kombat movie is awesome!

If we're talking about the classic games, then Mortal Kombat is my choice. I would be afraid to figure out how long I've played Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, whether it be on emulators, on Playstation 2 (Mortal Kombat Armageddon Special Edition), in the arcade, Nintendo DS, wherever. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is the king of all arcade fighter games in my opinion.

If we are talking about the newer games, there's no way that Mortal Kombat could beat the Street Fighter games (not including the fact that there are no Mortal Kombat games on the current gen systems). While Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon were fun, Street Fighter IV still is a much better and more polished game.

I think mortal kombat is better. I like street fighter as well, but growing up i played mortal kombat a lot more so it just stuck with me.

I like Mortal Kombat better, because it was darker, and I'm not a fan of games on the "light" side.

Mortal kombat it just has a bettle fighting engine in the 3d ones but on the 2d i still like mortal kombat i dont know y but i just do its better better music and awsome finishers (fataltiys lol) i love them they are awsome

Mortal Kombat is better that street fighters, im my mind. I like it a lot as a game and the movie, that I watched, was good(not perfect, but good enough).
