The longest game I have ever played would have to be Dragonquest 8 Journey of the cursed king. I swear its so long. When I first played it I loved it. When I defeated the main villain I thought everything was over. But...I was wrong after the long chasing there was another big villain I had to face. And which yet again was another long journey to do. When I completed the game I never felt so relived in my life lol. XD

I think TES: Skyrim takes the cake here. I've invested over 700 hours trying to finish every little detail of that game, from side quests to sub-plots to Easter eggs. It's an open world game, so that's not even the surface of what you can do. Once I finished all of the side-stories (Thieves' Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Companions, the civil war, etc.), I got back to the main story and finished that last, which was a massive amount of time. Then, I finished as much side-quests as I could, then I made a new player and started the cycle over again. It has a huge replay value and it's easily the game I've put most of my time to.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the longest game that I have ever played is probably one that I am still playing...GTA V. I believe I have played online for just over 3 days now, and I'm at rank 56. If I want to get the platinum trophy for it ( which I will ) I have to get to rank 100. That, plus the story mode I also have to complete. I can't really tell you a certain number of hours, but I will have certainly put in a LOT when I get done with it.

When I first played Final Fantasy XII it took me 135 hours to finish it, and still did not do all the things there is. So that's why I like it very much because it has so much quests and hidden things to find. Well if you don't count World of Warcraft what is endless game.

The longest game I've ever played is Dark Souls 2. My file has over 200 hours, and I still didn't get through all the DLC. While I did spend a lot of time leaving the game on and repeatedly fighting people in PvP, that's still more time than I've sunk into any other game.

There's also the Advance version of Final Fantasy 4...yeah, I would spend a lot of time repeatedly running through the bonus dungeon whenever I felt bored. I maxed out everything that could possibly be maxed out, and I still kept on playing and playing and playing. I'm sure I sunk a lot of time into this game, but I don't know exactly how long, since the timer stops at 99:59.

I have played Team Fortress 2 for over 900 hours, but I suppose the longest game I've spent time on in a single save was Kingdom Hearts 2.5, the main KH2 game in that has over 100 hours of context compared to the around 80 in the original version.

Most of the video games I play aren't that long. The longest one I've played is Super Mario 64, which is also my favorite game that I play almost every day It took me around a year to get all 120 stars and beat the game. Now it takes me only 2 hours if I don't lose lives a lot

In Terms of Longplay..  It's Easily Final Fight 3.    On my gaming profile or in the RGR you can see why through my playthrough using guy on the hardest difficulty.   i spent about 2 hours straight on the hardest difficulty.  But other than that I've truly haven't played any long game expect Final Fantasy 6, but I never got that far before I quit.

In terms of the most time I ever spent on a single game, it would probably be Skyrim. I was trying to accomplish every thing the game had to offer, as well as max out every skill relative to my character's build. I think I got just over 250 hours altogether on a single file before becoming too burnt out to keep playing. There's probably still a handful of dungeons I've yet to clear, but I did manage to complete every single quest in the game I could ( some of them are not able to be finished because of a glitch or some other random reason lol ).

According to my Steam profiles, I've invested over one thousand hours into Civilization V. It sure doesn't feel that way- every time I start a game up it seems like just a few minutes from start to victory.....or a last-turn AI science victory.

I've also spent about 250 hours playing Sleeping Dogs. Yeah remember that game? I used to be insanely addicted when I was 12-13 years old. I still play it sometimes but since I practically know the whole game inside out and own all the DLC, it's pretty boring now.

But if we're talking how long it took me to finish certain games, I think I spent about 200 hours over the course of seven years finishing Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It was worth every minute.

Not counting MMO's, which I don't play much of anyways, I have played many hours of Age of Empires II, Tzar: Burden of the Crown, and even The Sims. Of course throw in Rollercoaster Tycoon, SimCity 2000, SimCity 4. Although I have put over 100 hours into Grand Theft Auto V, ranging from playing through the game twice, just messing around, and of course Grand Theft Auto Online. I am sure I could come up with some others later. I should check my Raptr account to see what I have put a lot of hours into.

metal gear rising In terms of just storyline, either Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy VII takes the cake. They both of the longest storylines I've played, especially considering both are PSX games.

For 100% completion though, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain absolutely took way longer than both of those games to 100%. The story was garbage but the gameplay was phenomenal and there seriously was a lot to do.

The longest game I 100% completed was probably Pokemon Conquest.

The after-game in that game is wild, and I also got all warriors with their perfect link and the entire pokedex filled in.

Took hundreds of hours, though I do love the game. Hopefully they're going to make a Conquest 2, maybe with all gen 1-7 pokemon in it :3

For me, I'd have to say Final Fantasy X for many reasons.  It's nature as a jrpg means it's going to be quite a long experience by default.  I can't think of a jrpg to date that doesn't contain some sort of grind.  Aside from that however, it had a decently long story as well which, when combined with the difficulty of a jrpg makes for a very long experience.  On top of that, I was stuck on a certain boss called Evrae for pretty much my entire childhood and adolescent life.  Mainly because as a kid I was horrible at managing the sphere grid and by the time I was in my teens I was primarily playing either flash games or xbox 360 games.  I believe it wasn't until either last year or 2014 that I finally went back and did a real playthrough of the game.  So really you could say it took me almost my entire lifetime so far to beat Final Fantasy X.

I have played enough RPGs, like Final Fantasy II, III, X, and X-2. Final Fantasy X-2, blitzball ruination aside, was easily once of the games I spent the most time on because of all the side quests, the customizing of players and their techniques and skills, and running the story from various angles to 100% the whole thing.

But, I've held on to my PS2 for years and years and I still revisit NCAA Football 2008. I have played a massive number of seasons, taking newly-invented teams to the Sugar Bowl, developing my alma mater, Eastern Michigan University, into a Big Ten powerhouse, and playing with different defensive and offensive schemes.

"How many hours of play have you committed to that game?" you might ask. I don't know. I bet between 200-300 hours over the past ten years.
