I have never smoked before, but there were a few times when I consider it. During the times I was really depressed, to be exact, but ultimately changed my mind each time. I've heard it could cause some serious problems like lung cancer. My stepfather smokes 'em like everyday 24/7.

No, I've never smoked before, and don't ever plan to do so. It's a very costly and health deteriorating habit that I don't ever want any part of.

I used to smoke like half to 3/4 a pack a day of Newports. I started smoking in the first place because when I started using drugs as a teen, they would intensify the high. But sooner rather than later, it was a habit I had to do or I went through Nicotine withdrawals. I vape now instead, it's at least a lot less damaging than the alternative. They almost never explode or catch fire like some say except when stupid people try to build their own from scrap and don't know what they're doing.
It ain't no joke when they say Nicotine is 5 times more addictive than heroin. I've seen more long-term users quit dope than smoking, myself included.

Nope, I never have, and hopefully I never will. None of my friends, and none of my family smokes, so there isn't much of a temptation at all do to it. 

And after taking all of those health classes and watching so many videos, its not hard to fight the temptation. I'm pretty sure I never even want to go near them, and when I'm outside, the second hand smoke from other people's cigarettes makes me feel sick, which is a pretty big turn off. 

No I do not smoke, and I don't plan to since I pretty much love my lungs because they help me survive.

Nah I'm kidding. I don't smoke, and never will do. My parents do quite often, but I don't have a single desire to join them. 

I used to. I started up at 23 (summer before I turned 24) and I just quit last year April 27th.

No, I have never smoked in my life. I have never touched a cigarette in my life, and like a lot of people here, I hope I never will. Smoking is not only bad for your lungs, but can sometimes get you into the wrong crowds. 

I don't smoke. I'd rather not get cancer. That and the fact I'd rather spend what little money I have on other things. And I really, really hate the smell that smoking causes.

I had cancer three times between the ages 14 and 16. Due to that I don't wish to destroy anymore than what the chemo took(got no cartilage in my right knee and very little in my left).

I've never smoked and never will. Those of us who are fighting against  bad health by ourselves need everything but something that can deteriorate us further.

It's strange because my family is full of smokers. My parents smoke, though my mother very rarely and never in public (I wonder if she knows I know it), and several cousins of mine do as well. One of my uncles smokes a cigar after a good lunch, one of my cousins and her "wife" smoke a variant of cigars in a small size, and the rest smokes the traditional cigarettes. Some of my friends do smoke cigarettes as well.

I've never understood people who smoke. It has always seemed like an extremely foolish thing to do. Obviously people get addicted as teens and then have to find a way to get off of them. It never seemed like an appealing thing to me though.

I smoked cigs very frequently when I was a freshman in high school all the way until the beginning of last year. Camel Blues. It was a nasty habit, and I became very dependent on them. My clothes and my room smelt, and my throat always hurt. And I only started because like you, I was depressed and I also wanted to fit in with the kids around me. 0/10, do not recommend. It isn't healthy.

I used to binge on cigarettes. When I say binge I mean I suddenly start smoking and just quit weeks later. It is kind of relevant to my bipolar disorder, but let's not get into that too much.

Right now, cigarettes stinks for me, and certainly makes me feel sick. I don't even know how I started at all.
My parents don't smoke, but my extended family does. Specifically my grandpa and his girlfriend, some uncles and aunts, so on.

I do not. I never even tried once, and I probably never will. However, I do have a confession that I'm kind of addicted to secondhand smoke. It's not from regular cigarretes though I think, because it smelled amazing.

I smoked for a bit. Nothing serious at all. I'm talking about once every other week or so. They were cheaper than my favorite cigars, and came in a 20 pack. They just didn't taste very good, and being a cigar smoker, the taste is why I smoke at all. Haven't touched a cigarette or cigar since November though. Lost interest. Plus, I decided to smoke a stogie on an empty stomach and ended up incredibly sick. Might have played a part

I love to run now so smoking is out of the question.  There was a time when I was 11 and my best friend started smoking he said he liked it and I wanted to see what it was like.  Before I went to school that day we went to the tennis court and had a smoke, it was pretty gross and my friend told me that it's only like that at first.  While I was at school that day I remember more than one person telling me that my breath smelled terrible.  One of my other friends even gave me a piece of gum and then told me my breath was still stank!!  Needless to say it was more than enough shaming to keep me from ever wanting to try another cigarette in my life.  Looking back I would thank all of those that told discouraged me from it.  At the time it made for a pretty lousy day, but it saved me from a bad habit that would've taken a serious toll on my health and kept me from running.

  Any smoke you breathe in can blacken your lungs. That's why if you escape or get rescued from a burning building after inhaling smoke, you are supposed to follow up with a doctor to get tested regularly for many different lung conditions to be safe.

 People who willingly draw smoke into their lungs by smoking any cigarette containing any drug substance are actively contributing to lessening their quality of life. That's something they just don't have the cognitive skills to begin with(before ever smoking) to contemplate at all. Their entire scope of logic is knowing they are going to die anyway because everyone does. Longevity is considered by smokers and many people with poor diets to be the only indicator of health. Needing pills to keep you alive is not health. Believe me.

 The true indicators of health are ease and quality of life. Consuming drugs or media (TV, films, repetitive music not exceeding 6 minutes[as heard on popular radio stations], radio programs, magazines with juicy gossip, etc) or video games are not healthy natural behaviors but acquired ones. The enjoyment of activities that are not based in those are normal.


 I do not smoke and never have and never will, if that isn't blindingly obvious already.

I tried it and it never really did anything for me.

I smoked for awhile in College and for awhile afterwards, when I was young but quit basically as soon as it started getting expensive. To be honest, I don't know how people in larger urban areas afford it anymore, considering how expensive they've gotten.

Ever since I've quit, I've never looked back. When I smell people that you know have smoked, I always think to myself, "I used to smell like THAT??" So glad I don't smoke anymore.

Don't smoke kiddos, IT'S HORRIBLE. Besides, no one smokes really anymore, so it's not like you have to worry about "being cool"
