So, I finally got around to seeing Deadpool today (yay Birthday weekend) and I must say I was disappointed. I had heard from a lot of people that it was their favorite comic to movie so far.

I must say that it didn't do much for me. I though the overall story was pretty boring. I didn't care for the main character at all. He wasn't likeable in the slightest. His jokes were pointlessly crude and his lines sounded like they were written by a bunch of drunk 18 year olds.

The action, while good, never had any real tension. Deadpool is practically unkillable so why should I care what happens to him.... I didn't.

It was kind of neat to see a couple other x-men involved but even they didn't save this for me.

Overall it was an okay movie but too many things that I felt just didn't work.

Being popular doesn't mean you're good either.

There are plenty of things that are popular but are absolute garbage. That isn't a great argument for something being good.

And my opinion doesn't stop you from liking the character or enjoying the movie. I simply didn't like what I got. I heard lots of people say it was one of the best super hero movies they had ever seen and I wouldn't even stick it in a top 20 list.

I did like it and it managed to stay true to the character's personality and also did a pretty good job of telling his backstory which I personally enjoyed. What you're describing is pretty much what Deadpool is about, if you don't like the concept of his character you're not going to like the movie simple as that. Overall I don't feel the movie was anything amazing some cool action scenes and funny 4th wall breaks but not exactly one of my favorite movies made. It was cool to see Deadpool finally get his own movie though.

Personally I'm a lot more interested in how Suicide Squad will turn out.

Some of the jokes were great and some of the stunts and effects were incredible but in a few instances, I couldn't understand what was goin on, or even get why.

My parents won't let me watch Deadpool...

I know what there is in it, and so do they, my step dad is a big fan of superhero movies. Most of my friends at school said it's good, but reading some of your replies on here makes me think otherwise, so I really want to see it so I can actually give my opinion on it.

I've always enjoyed the Deadpool character. At least with regards to an anti-hero type.

Thing that was always funny and entertaining about Deadpool in the comics was that he never took himself too seriously and knew that he was in an unrealistic world. Was also funny how he would regularly talk to his readers directly. When you delve into some of his darker past, it gets pretty cool.

With regards to the Movie, I thought it was entertaining for an action flick with a good blend of Comedy and action. I also felt like Ryan Reynolds did a good job with the character overall, although I do feel like they could delve deeper into the story. Hopefully they do a sequel.
