Greetings, ladies and gentlemen (and everyone else). I am TheFadedWarrior, a candidate for the upcoming Local Moderator elections. These elections have never been done before, so forgive me as I am not used to this style of post. Here's some stuff, I guess you can read it if you want...

Get to know me

I am Ethan, a 15-year-old gaming enthusiast. I joined this website 4 years ago, but have used it a lot starting about 5 or 6 years ago. My hobbies include all kinds of gaming from NES to PC, talking to complete strangers on the computer, biking, hanging out with friends, eating, and sometimes skateboarding. As elections are not the time to be modest about yourself, I would like to say that I consider myself intelligent and clever, but first and foremost a kind-hearted person who would, without question, help any other being. I am very friendly, so regardless of whether I become mod or not, hit me up if you need help with anything (or if you just need someone to chat with).

Also, I do not like sour cream.

Why I'd be a great moderator

One of my better features is that I am pro-active. I do not wait until something happens so I can fix it, instead I make sure it doesn't happen. When users start misbehaving, I warn them first. I do not wait until they've misbehaved so much without discipline that they need a ban.

I also constantly look for things to do, so I do not have to wait for mod summons before they are closed. For example, in the Vizzed Market, if an offer has been completed and the thread becomes pointless, I would know. I look through threads daily for missing or failed mod summons. And because I look at threads so often, I know if a thread is getting out of hand/a clone of another thread, so I can look and close them as soon as they need to be.

As many of you know, but more of you do not know, I was a moderator previously. I had to step down because I was going through a hard time in my life and couldn't handle the stress. But while I was a moderator, I can humbly say (or at least attempt to do so) that I did a very good job moderating the site and help keeping it clean. My last two paragraphs about being pro-active and constantly making an effort to get rid of spam and "serve justice?" Yes, I did those when I was a moderator previously. And since I have experience moderating this website, I know exactly how to moderate it if I become Local Mod again.

So...

In this thread, ask me anything! Ask me more about myself! Ask me what I would do in
X situation! Ask me what my thoughts are on something! Anything you would like to know, all you need is post in this thread.

Also, if anyone's interested, I have a crappy campaign layout (img). Just say if you want one, I'll send it right to you.

As someone who was active on the site throughout your time as a moderator and when you made your step down thread, you seemed pretty set on leaving the site saying you were done with it, the non chat part of it at least, since you're trying to become a moderator again I assume you've had a change of heart. How would you say your outlook on the site has changed since then and how can I if I vote for you be sure a situation similar to that won't arise again if you become mod?

You were the most recent, I believe, of the applicants, to be perma-banned. Why should I overlook this, and give you a vote, despite all logic saying it would be a horrible idea?

Your demotion is a well known/discussed topic, or at least was, at the time of your demotion. Care to shed more light on what happened, and why exactly it all went down? Or do you think the past is the past, and is irrelevant to who we are today?

"I had to step down because I was going through a hard time in my life and couldn't handle the stress. But while I was a moderator, I can humbly say (or at least attempt to do so) that I did a very good job moderating the site and help keeping it clean."

You say you had to step down because of stress, that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking, directly, what did you do to get yourself demoted in the first place, IE-pornography, flaming, abuse of power, etc.

Your moderating history is not as squeaky clean as you make it out to be, and there is a lot of cause for concern, right now, you look to have little to no integrity. What do you plan on doing to combat that? Have you considered starting lower down the pole to gain back some of the trust you more or less threw away?

What is the main thing you wish to change about Vizzed?

Zlinqx: When I made my step-down thread, I (quite obviously) wasn't thinking straight due to a couple factors. One of which was because many of my friends had left recently, and, with most of the ones I still had, we were slowly distancing ourselves from each other. I felt a bit lonely and I didn't really have a reason to come to the main website anymore. But from just occasionally going to chat and not the forums, I did make new friends. I have since then had a change of heart and ultimately my outlook, on not just the website but my life, has changed for the better. I realize what I did was stupid previously and I have most certainly learned my lesson.

SPEED LEGGY : My perma-ban, though the most recent of the candidates, was still quite awhile ago. To answer both your first and second questions, I do not believe the past is always irrelevant to the present, but I did definitely learn my lesson. You know when you look back on when you did things a couple years in the past and think, "Wow, did I really do that? Was I that immature and dumb?" People can change, and I think I definitely did (and for the better).

The reason I was demoted (or would be if I didn't step down first) is quite a story. I had come across the credentials for an inactive trusted member account before I even became a moderator. A member who was previously site staff got banned. They made a rereg and asked me to get them trusted quickly so they could do something (which, at the present, I would like to apologize for not remembering what they were doing). Of course, I hopped on the inactive trusted member and made them trusted, which of course was a really dumb idea. I admitted to it and stepped down.

From these past two experiences, I have decided to change for the better. True, I did think that the first time, when I got perma-banned, but sometimes it takes a few mistakes to let the lesson sink in. Since my stepping down, I
truly realized my mistakes and have definitely stopped pushing my luck.

However, as you say, this brings up my substandard reputation. Who's the say I can be trusted with this position again? First off, I have to point out your comment on my moderating history. I must say that I did a good job moderating, but definitely did not act how one should of that rank. I will not say that I was corrupt, but instead hypocritical.

I cannot stress how dumb and embarrassed I feel from doing what I did, but I can also not stress enough how much I have matured in this half year. Yes, it hasn't been very long at all, but as I have repeatedly stated, I forever learned my lesson. I am also at the point in my life, beginning high school, where I start to take everything more seriously. My responsibilities, my attitude, my entire life.

When you make a mistake of the magnitude that I did, you're scarred forever. Your chances for a position that high are minimized. All I can do for now to combat that is to just say by word that I have matured. Ever since I got unbanned from the whole abusing-tp ordeal and came back to the actual website, I have had a clean record. My overall history may be ugly, but my recent history is nothing to be ashamed of. I have slowly been gaining back my trust from many people, and I think this will definitely help people see that I'm "better," in a way, now.

For your final question, the main thing I wish to change is the recent attitude and mild inactivity on the site. Multiple remarkable members have left these past few months. If I become Local Moderator again, I will try my best to make this website as best as possible. That means good moderation, quality threads, and encouraging all members to help with this and bring this website to its peak.

Thank you for the questions.

Your chat history is less stellar than your board history. It has been shown in times, that you can be very abrasive in chat (no shame in it, I'm abrasive too). As a mod however, there are times you will have to chill out.

What exactly do you think your gameplan is, should you become a local? What do you plan on doing to make sure that the best version of you makes an appearance?

If elected, do you plan on modding chat?

While you were going through complications at the time and were not thinking clearly about leaving I do not understand why you want to run again. I can understand the complications happening. However I do not understand why you would run again since it seems like this kind of thing could easily happen to you again and then Vizzed would be without a Local Mod for the time. So if you win you might just quit soon after. The point is trust. I feel as though Vizzed cannot trust you as a mod for a little while because you threw all of the trust you did have down in the garbage. As of right now I really do not think you should be a moderator. Please fix any of my mistakes if you feel this is false. My question is simply, what comeback do you have to my response?

How active do you think you can be?

What would you do if there was somebody spamming, and there wasn't a global around to inform?

Will you make doge the official meme of Vizzed?

And, what do you think you've improved on the most since you've returned to Vizzed?
