So here is my list of  bands I think shaped the scene and the industry through the 1990's to about 2013. Please Vote accordingly.

If I've missed any out that you think should be on there please comment and vote.

This will be quite interesting.... m/

looba : If you're familiar with Faith No More, their singer did several other projects. While I wouldn't put them in this poll because they were rather obscure, and because you really can't lump them in with any one genre, Mr. Bungle was a phenomenal band. While it sounds like they're just goofing off at first, it's all 100% serious, premeditated and brilliantly psychotic. If you can stand it until your ears adjust, I'd recommend giving them a listen if you already haven't.

looba : I really enjoy lots of metal music and I found out about Slipknot from a friend and I've practically loved their music ever since. I mean sure at first it sounds weird and crazy but you get used to it and it gets to be pretty soothing and a great listen too every now and then and I'd say my favourite song by them is Diluted mostly because of it's rythm and beat

I feel like Otep should be on that list but they were more late 80's/early 90's I believe, so I forgive you haha.

It was a really tight race between Metallica, Slipknot, AC/DC, and a few others that I can't recall now (long list haha!) but in the end I gotta hand it to Metallica. I feel like they really opened up the doors for music in general, and it's a legacy that is still continuing.

The choice on this was easy! It's Slipknot for sure!

Their music has basically saved my life during some of the worst times of my life. I started listening to them back in 2006 and has liked them even since. In my opinion they've got everything I look for in a band. Good lyrics, good lead singer and only really talented musicians. I was at a Slipknot concert a few years ago and that's probably one of the best things I've ever done. I wouldn't change that experience for anything.

I was a huge Metallica fan in the 90's and still am today. I think they are one of the best metal bands of all time.

Not sure what people are thinking with some of the other votes that got made but to each their own I guess....

I would say Metal peaked in the 80's with Slayer,Metallica,Megadeth,Manowar, among others.

90's was more for Rap,Alternative,R and B,boy bands.

2000's was more for a bit of everything.

Here is one I like,I actually found this in an AMV,funny enough.

My top three from that list, hands down, is
1. Rammstein
2. System of a Down
3. Lamb of God (since Soziedad Alkoholika was not there)

heh, I suppose that list tells a little of my personality, eh?

looba : Where's the Alice In Chains love??? They're better than anyone you listed :/ But out of the options I would definitely pick Avenged Sevenfold personally, as they're one of my favorite bands. At least the music they used to put out was great...
As of right now, my favorite Band would be Tool, which I also voted for on the list. Love their trippy bass lines man

I can't believe Primus was left out of this, thinking back on it. Les Claypool is probably the greatest bassist that ever lived.

Oh wow I know a lot of these! I did not know they were so old. They are just normal music at our house. I can't pick just 1 though.

looba : As a metal/alternative metal fan my whole life, I like the list you provided. I know you can't think of literally EVERY single band in that genre in that time frame but from what you've provided, you did good.

My favorite band has been Tool for as long as I've been listening to them ( since about 2001 ). I was kinda disappointed that you also left A Perfect Circle off the list, but they and Tool are really similar so I'm not complaining. For the record, I voted for 22 bands that I thought deserved at least a honorable mention. And also...

geeogree : Not everyone likes what you like lol I, too, am a big Metallica fan and I'm sure we're not the only ones. But come on man...let the people make their votes. If you like Metallica, then you shouldn't have a problem with most of the bands on this list...well, the ones you've heard of anyway lol
