I recently read an article that tells what is in the sky for February . Seems a five planet alignment happens in the eastern skies before dawn . The planets are: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. This is probably a rare occurrence, as I don't believe this happens that often, so we should get a gander at this as we might not be able to see it again. Anyway, here is a link to the article that also shows other night sky views that month.

I thought it was already there! I have been reading about this alignment for at least a week. When was the last time it happened?

janus : I really don't know. I've just recently dabbled into astronomy a bit and I get a newsletter from Orion which told me about it. Thing is, from what I see in the pre-dawn sky, the moon is high and Jupiter is very close to it. Venus is low on the horizon, and Saturn is well above Venus. And Mars is on the eastern side of where the moon is right now. They might be talking about that.

Does anybody know the next time something like this will happen? I completely missed this thread until way after it was too late I love checking out cool astrological occurrences like these. I saw a red moon last year which was really cool.
