Hey if anyone can help.... I have this problem now for some time and haven't figure it out  yet and need help. Has anyone have a problem playing Super Mario RPG and when they get the 5 Star Road piece the game completely freezes up on you. If anyone else has come across this problem and knows how to get pass it PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TELL ME HOW!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Getting sick of not able to beat this game and would like to add this to my list of completed games.

Ace CR 01 : You are doing this on ZSNES, right? If so, you have to quit the game(you either switch to a new game or quit the emulator and relaunch it). Go to the load section, where you have to choose the ROM you want to play with. Go to the ROM you want to play with, but just stay there, and don't click on the ROM or Enter button yet. You see the boxes that show the forces(NTSC/PAL, etc.)? Check the PAL box, then load the game. It shouldn't freeze this time. Hope this helps!

ZSNES tend to have issues running certain roms correctly i noticed. I ran into this freezing issue myself and just switched what emulator I used cause i ran into many problems with ZSNES. CaptainLogan suggestion may be the best for ZSNES otherwise only advice I can give is to switch emulators.

I can vouch as well that ZSNES is a very buggy emulator regarding some SNES roms, even the likes of Mega Man X, which can heavily bug out on you, especially if you Game Over on the intro stage.

This is one of those games that has a hard time being emulated, especially with the version of ZSNES that the RGR uses. I would suggest using Mednafen instead, although you would have to start from the beginning of the game since the saves can't transfer to to the other emulator.

Rashama has a point. Try switching emulators. I did beat the game through the ZSNES, but it has an inevitable and unblockable(I think) freeze bug once you beat Smithy.
