My dad bought me a beautiful marble chess board from a garage sale when I was young.  Does that count?  I learned to play both Chess and Pool from him, but I still can't beat him most of the time.  He also bought me a game boy pocket when I was really young.  It came with a kirby game, troy akeman's foot ball, and a mega man game.  That had to have been 20+ years ago.  I'd still have to say that the brown and black Atari ( I think the 2600 ) was my first console to play on

My first game console was the N64. At least, that's what my first gaming memories were of. Still got the games, 15+ years later.

LunarDarkness2 : Sorry that I got to your reply so late, but it exceeded my expectations, as a matter of fact, Dragon Warrior started me loving the Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior series. I wish that the love I feel for this series were catching, but we in North America don't like Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior as much as the Japanese do. But it will come eventually.

My first handheld was my mom's old Game Boy that she gave me way back when I was like 4 or 5 (I think). I had The Lion King, Dr. Mario, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Gold Coins, and Tetris for it.
My first console was the Nintendo 64. I've had quite a few games for it , though, I'm missing a majority of the most popular ones, like Zelda, Mario 64, etc.
I still own it, but I don't play it that often anymore, but the games I played the most for it when I was playing it almost nonstop were probably Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and Mario Party 2.

The SNES, I believe.

The story of how I got one in the first place is because of my half brother. He's in his 30's, and back in the day my father got him a SNES and a N64. A few years after I was born, he decided to move out. However, he left the SNES and N64 consoles with us, so I began to play with them.

The first two games I played on it were Super Mario World and Wario's Woods, as far as I can remember. Both were classic, even though my Wario's Woods cartridge doesn't work properly anymore, rip. Neither does my half brother's SNES in fact, we had to get a used one off of Amazon so I could continue to play. The N64 still stands strong to this day, though.

I don't really play on either console anymore sadly, mostly because I'm focusing on Internet stuff now days.

My first memory of a console is of me watching my older brother playing Super Mario RPG on Super Nintendo.
The first console bought for me was a PlayStation, the first game I was given on PlayStation was Ape Escape because my parents thought it was multiplayer, I was around the age of five.
The first console I ever purchased was an Xbox 360 in 2011, I used the Christmas money I had received at the time, and I borrowed Fable II from my Cousin because I like Fable.

Some of the first experiences I have had with video games was on my brother's Game cube ...and a little bit on the Nintendo 64.
Of Course the first console that was bought for me, was a indigo Game cube (Somewhere around 2006-8.)
With that said, I'm pretty attached to the Game cube when it comes to gaming consoles I prefer.
The first console that I bought (with store credit) was the PlayStation; PSone model (Somewhere around 2014-2015.)
My first hand held was the Nintendo DS (Given to me as a Christmas present, a while ago ...all ready after I had the Game cube.)

It's between 2 and i'm not sure which one. The PS1, and the GBA Advance SP. I'm leaning towards the PS1, though.

If we're talking about MY first ever console that would be a DS I got for christmas. Before that i always used to share consoles with my brother.

My first console was when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I had saved up change for what seemed to be forever, and with my parents help, I bought myself a Gamecube. I dont know why little me was so fascinated with this cubed console, but it is still the best one to me since it was the first one I was introduced to.

My first console was the xbox 360 arcade edition , and the first game I got for it was midnight club LA and it came with Sonic superstars tennis and arcade games but I didn't play them and gamestop wouldn't take them in for trade-in's lol.

My very first console was the PS2, which later was given to my cousin once I got the PS2 slim when it came out. It still runs good as new, too, actually. The cord on my controller busted though, so unfortunately I can no longer play it until I buy a new one.

I believe my first handheld was a Gameboy Advance SP, which also still works really well.

My very first console was my moms super Nintendo that gave to me when I was about 3. She only let me play Mario paint at first because she used to have a day care before she had me and you had to be 5 before you could play the other games so the little kids would not mess up the data! So the same rules applied to me. Once I hit 5 years I could play all of the games the console lasted for another 3-4 years after that before it broke. Afterwards my mom got me a game boy advance sp to make up for the super Nintendo breaking. I still have that game boy today though I overcharged it too much and now it has a battery life span of 5 min! So when I want to play it I have to have it plugged into the wall at all times!

The first console I ever played was the NES. It is also, and always will be more than likely, my favorite console of all time. I believe that I have been playing it ever since I was 4 or 5 years old, and I've never stopped playing it lol Right now, Vizzed has been the only thing I can go to play those games. But now with the release of the new NES mini revealed, I will again be able to play it on the right console with the right controller XD

I didn't actually start playing handheld games until I had the Sega Game Gear, so I would count that as my first handheld. It was really the only time I had played any Sonic games as a kid lol Obviously, I am not that big a Sonic fan
