Have you ever had to get surgery for any reason in your life before? I can recall 2 times I had to get surgery. The first time happened when I was a baby and I had to put tubes in my ears, and the second time was when I was about 6 years old and had to get surgery on my teeth because of cavities.

So far, I've only needed to undertake surgery once. It was sometime in 2008, so it will soon be eight years (time sure flies, man...). I had to get rid of a fistula, which appeared in a very uncomfortable place. At least it didn't appear again, like happened to my cousin.

Well, the stuff for cavities isn't really a surgery, that's more of a procedure, and I have had a few procedures and maybe 1 or 2 surgeries. The most recent one was probably about 6 or 7 years ago when I broke my chin and had to have a part of it repaired.

Other than minor mouth "surgery" (having wisdom teeth removed, gums transplant), I had to get my pilonidal (check for yourself what it is) operated twice, and it was such a hassle to have it healed. I should have listened to the nurses earlier on and basically stopped moving. But it is so hard when you are active!

Yep. 6 surgeries. Only 1 was serious though. The abridged version is that I got really, really sick when I was 11, and ended up having to have my spleen taken out. They thought it was a cyst the size of a saucer. Nope! It was a growth that had completely taken over my spleen, stretched it to the size of an NFL football, and pushed all my other organs out of the way. Nearly 8 years later and we still don't know what it was, honestly. We just call it a cyst because that's what it most closely resembled. It'll be easiest to just timechart it, honestly

11 - The big surgery on my spleen

12 - had a cyst (an actual cyst) removed from my neck

13 - had a cyst removed from my forehead

15 - had a cyst removed from my cheek

17 - forehead cyst came back with a vengeance. Had it removed again. Got infected and spent 6 months going to the dermatologist's every week. Once the infection was gone, had to have it operated on again. Finally got the bastard though

I'll be 20 in 3 months and haven't had any issues since then. Hopefully I can go another 2-3 years without trouble...

LunarDarkness2 : as far as my spleen goes, we still have 0 idea what it was or where it came from. Best guess is that it was a remnant from my miscarried twin. As for actual cysts, the kind I kept getting were calcified cysts. Apparently, if you're lucky enough to get one, the odds are good that you'll get several. I just won the lottery of genetics is all

So far I have not had any surgeries. I did however have a Colonoscopy procedure done and was put to sleep- that was my first time dealing wit anesthesia and I remember it burning the heck out of me. It was awkward waking up. I do have to get surgery in both eyes for cataracts but do to how much it costs, it's taking me some time to get to it. Perhaps in two years I'll be able to get one eye surgery at least. But other than that no surgeries luckily. *knocks on wood. No bones broken either *knocks on wood.

Yep plenty most as a baby another as a toddler another bunch when I had to sort out my ear since I went blind and had to wear glasses. And for my recovery? It would always be either in months or years....its really ridiculous since I am an ill person and born one. Sadly I don't remember all of the surgerys for when I was really young. I only remember the ear one. And for that I had to have like 3. The major one I think was the first and second one. They took some of my ribs and placed it on my ear. And they cut of some of my hair part to get some skin for my ear and that destroyed me because I was bold in that patchy part it took years for it to grow back. I had something in my right side of my stomach I still remember waking up in my ward room I couldn't even get up I tried too but I felt that pain. So as of now its been years since I have had any of that which thank goodness doesn't happen much nowadays for me. '-'

I had a swelling blood vessel on my chest when I was in third grade.  I remember getting the surgery the day after the 9/11 attacks.  I actually had to go to a plastic surgeon to get it removed.  It was basically a pimple that wouldn't go away on it's own and if popped would continually bleed, though it would clot after some time.  The procedure was similar to removing a mole.  I was very, very lucky when I got it removed.  It was the size of a pimple when I went to a doctor to see it, a little bigger.  Those can grow to the size of a grapefruit if left untreated.  I like to joke around though and say I've had plastic surgery.

LunarDarkness2 : yes I have gone through surgery 3 times so far in my life once for my eyes when I was about 5 years old I don,t remember anything about the surgery but I remember my mother telling me that when I was born they would somehow role into my head so I had to have my eyes straightened out. the second one was when I was 7 years old to have my tonsils removed and the last surgery I had was about 8 years ago for cellulitis.

I've had a few surgeries in my time.

1. Tubes in my ears when I was 8.
2. Broken wrist when I was 11.
3. Arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn meniscus when I was 24.
4. Had my gall bladder removed last year.

This doesn't include the endoscopy or the colonoscopy I had last year as well.

Oh yeah, I have had a lot of surgeries in my lifetime. I even had one the day I was born. I really don't know why to be honest. The most important one I had was a heart transplant around 2003. I was born with a heart that just didn't work right. My latest surgery was to get a tooth out because it was blocking the one It was trying to grow in.

LunarDarkness2 : I am 25 years old and I have had a total of 13 surgeries. 6 are personal corrective surgeries and the others are things like adenoids, tonsils, and a plate and 6 screws in my ankle from where I slipped in the kitchen and broke it. I also had a sleeve gastrectomy and went from 345 pounds to 230 pounds. So yes, yes I have had surgeries.

I have never had a surgery before, knock on wood. I have only had one relatively minor medical procedure done on me, and it was when the dentist put silver crowns on 4 of my back teeth. Little did we know that the dentist was a fraud, and nothing was wrong with my teeth. The good thing was that the silver crowns fell with the baby teeth that I lost.

RDay13 :

What kind of "dentist" did you go to!? Hearing that outrages me to no end, he could have seriously injured you if he wanted to! I hope you have a much better dentist now., and one that's actually a dentist. Did the fake dentist get arrested?

LunarDarkness2 :

He was a real dentist, but I think he wanted to make more money by claiming that I had cavities. This happened when I was 6 or 7 years old, by the way. I never was that kid who ate chocolates and candy all day long, and I had pretty good teeth. There was no way I had cavities, and as a result of the silver crowns, my body had some reaction to it and had a rash on my thigh. I still have a scar of that rash to this day, but it is fading and shrinking. My current dentist is really nice and have been going to her office for about 8 or 9 years.

I have never had surgery in my life before. I'm must very fortunate. Truth to be told, I would be scared the death if I ever was going to be infected with a needle and put to sleep knowing that I'm going to get cut open in some way doesn't suit quite well with me.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
