Sonic will be turning 25 in a couple of months so I thought it would be the perfect time to discus what kind of Sonic game everyone wants.
This thread is NOT about the spin off games mostly because I have not played all of them and I want to be able to know what everyone is talking about


Classic style Sonic's roots the Genesis days

Adventure style the games from the Dreamcast era also sonic 06

Heroes style they only did 1 of these and it was A lot of fun in my opinion


Boost style this 1 Is probably the most popular besides classic

Parkour style I think this 1 is underrated note plays somewhat like adventure style

other styles Rush,Advanced, I hope I did not miss any but I probably did.

I will start us off. I would want another Parkour style game Sonic Lost World was a very interesting game as in it had a lot of good a lot of bad and a lot of things it wanted to try and sometimes it worked and other time it failed like the sky segments where sonic was floating somehow those really were not fun. The parkour on the other hand was a lot of fun it added a very different way to explore, and find different secrets I feel like Sega should not give up on it after only 1 try I feel like it can be as good as the boost style of game play with time.


That's my opinion but what kind of Sonic game do you want for his 25th anniversary?

I'd love to see a "Sonic Generations 2" that combines elements of past in modern Sonic games in a fun way.  I enjoyed Sonic Generations, and I feel it may be the best Sonic game, despite its brief length.  It just did so many things right.  I agree that Parkour would be a welcome addition.  Maybe that could be incorporated into a Sonic Generations sequel?

supernerd117 : Sonic Generations was a great game I had a lot of fun it was just too short. I would really like a generations 2 theres still a lot they could do with 2 sonics teaming up and if they added parkour to it I really think it could open up the level design in a lot of ways. But I'm not sure how they could implement it though maybe 3 sonics?

I would really love to see a new Sonic Adventure. Not for the storyline, but for having an improved Chao Garden. If Sonic Team had a look at all the mods that some people have released for the game, they surely would give us a new game.

I also enjoyed Sonic Advance, but I don't see that kind of game being made today. It was awesome on the Game Boy Advance, but doesn't stand a single chance in modern systems. Any new Sonic game won't be in 2D, that's for sure.

I wouldn't be as excited for a new Sonic Heroes. I did like it, but not as much as other styles. I would even prefer a new Sonic Shuffle over it.

Sonic Adventure. It's been too long since the last one, and both SA's were incredibly well made, and very fun to play.

Once they moved from the "Adventure" series, the series began to tank, I think.

It's not technically well made, you have to look at it with a grain of salt, and consider how well it was made for the time period.

For the time period, it was relatively advanced.

Neither has Final Fantasy 7 or 8, but both games are pretty well made, for the time period, all told.

It's a problem a lot of non-Nintendo games are going to have going forward. As good as some games look, they will be left in the dust, graphically, in only a short period of time.

Just look at games made early on the PS3 life-cycle. A lot of those haven't aged well and it hasn't even been a decade.

I do prefer the boost gameplay the most so I would be happy to see that return again but in all honesty I am not too bothered what sort of gameplay they decide to use at this point. As long as its good I have no issue.

DylanMcKaig : I do like the boost game play and feel it was near perfection in generations I just don't like in all the new sonic games that like half the game is in 2d

Sonicolmstead : I hope they don't do that. If you want to add 2-d sections that much you may as well make a 2-d game in my opinion.

I agree if they want to do that they might as well make a 2d game. Speaking of 2d maybe they could make a remake of Sonic 1 for the people who want 2d games. That one picture Ive seen makes it look like they may do that

To be honest I'm fine with anything, so long as it's engaging, polished, and not Sonic Boom. I feel like the closest thing to that since Generations was Lost World, but it had too many gimmicks. I don't mind gimmicks though so long as it means a game that passes as a game.

Please Sega, I'm begging you. Make Sonic Adventure 3. Make those rumors going around saying that there will be Sonic Adventure 3 true. And don't repeat 2006 please. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 would be my favorite Sonic game if it wasn't for all of the problems. Games have problems, but this one has big ones that could have easily been prevented.

LunarDarkness2 : SA3 Needs to happen it would get Sega money which from what I understand needs to happen it is my favorite style of game play for sonic, it feels like 2d Sonic in a 3d environment .

More than anything, I would love another Sonic Adventure Battle game. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for GameCube is one of my top favorites for the whole franchise, and seeing another one would blow my mind. To be honest, I can't believe it hasn't already been done, but I guess Sega has their reasons (or just their heads up their butts)...
