This is a thread to discuss rumors and just general conversation related to Half-Life 3.  Here's one:

A game calling itself "Half Life 3" (no hyphen) appeared on the Steam database a few months ago and was recently discovered.  Is it the real thing?  Probably not.  But could it be a Valve placeholder to build hype?  Could Valve be teasing us?  Who knows?

With all the jokes and all the people begging for it, I'm pretty sure Valve will eventually make Half-Life 3. I mean, it has to be the number one most requested video game sequel of all time. Now that they're done with Steam Link/Controllers, Valve might focus more on new games.

So I was snooping around, and of course it may be a joke like always but it was said that Half-Life 2 Episode 3 was in development for a while but eventually was cancelled and is having more stuff added to it to become Half-Life 3

SeveredGodGear: There's tons and tons of Half-Life spin-offs and fan games. That has nothing to do with Half-Life 3.

I dunno much corporal lingo, but I'm pretty sure officially licensed is supposed to mean something, like maybe it's canon to the Half-Life universe? Besides, I'm just happy it shows Valve hasn't forgotten.

Meanwhile I've done some extensive research and EVERYONE'S hyped about the "big story" that'll be on HTC's Vive, ( credit to http://www.techradar.com/us/news/gaming/htc-there-s-a-big-story-regarding-the-vive-s-launch-games-1309114 and while EVERYONE is all ready to say it's half-life, I think it's Portal. Why? It's not big but on the official Vive website it says this:

Why would it credit Portal first EVER? I mean, HALF LIFE 3 is a meme, not PORTAL 3. I hear Half-Life stuff all the time. All I'm saying is, that's preeeetty peculiar.

SeveredGodGear : It's canon, but the license is easy to get and Valve has nothing to do with the game whatsoever.

TheFadedWarrior : Well it's made by gearbox, which means that, regardless of whether it's canon or stuff, it'll be great. They made Halo 1, Borderlands, Battleborn Homeworld, and a few other Half-Life titles (Blue Shift, Opposing Force and HL:Counter-Strike)
