I do not know whether it is only me, but I have been having several connection problems to this website, from the retro game room to the forums. Even when I am not uploading anything, it seems that (very often) I simply can not connect to anything. It says "connecting" in the lower-right corner, but then it takes so long that the connection "times out." Sometimes closing and opening the browser (I use Chrome) works, but sometimes nothing changes.

Is it because of high traffic? Are there servor problems?

I get this a lot as well, but its mostly late at night which has actually been a problem for a really long time, like years I believe. There have been a few times when this happened in the morning, when I submit a reply and all of a sudden it's not connected anymore, but this usually lasts for about 30 seconds and I always dismissed it as a problem that had to do with my own internet connection

I doubt it would have to do with the Internet connection. I use a cable and when Vizzed is "down" all other websites function rather normally. I first noticed it early in the morning (before 7 Mountain Time) but though it was just "normal" maintenance, as happens sometimes when we can not play the retro game room. But in the past few days, the occurrence has increased.

Hmm, 7 mountain would be about 9 over here, and I never saw that problem at that time. The problem that I sometimes see during the day is usually in the afternoon, like sometimes once or twice between 3 and 6 PM, but I haven't seen this in at least 3 or 4 days so far.

This site does occasionally get bogged down from time to time I notice, where pages time out when loading. Since my connection is somewhere around 100MBPs I know it's not my connection.

Not quite sure what's causing it, if it's server lag, or David doing something to the site/server/etc. This stuff happens from time to time, so I guess I've just gotten used to dealing with it.

I've been having problems too. Just logging in now took 4 minutes to show the page after saying server timed out twice. I was in another browser in a different page and was not having any problem at all. Also, I've been trying to play PlayStation games but it says loading game and stays there forever and after 10 minutes I just give up. That is in my work computer and we have very good and fast internet connection. I am using Chrome and close it and re-open it and usually does the trick but not for the PlayStation issue though. I usually log in early in the morning around 9am ET and rarely ever have any problems at that time; usually starts around now 12:30PM ET when the site takes too long to download.

jlove92 : The playstation games are large, and depending on your connection speed can time out. How fast is your net connection? Does your Work computer have any limits on what you can download? I know a lot of work computers block the download of large files like this. Something to look into anyways because I think the problem you are referring to is different than the problem we are referring to in here with regards to pages sometimes not loading.

What are the specs of that PC you are trying to play from?

Just to test, I just tried downloading a rather large PS1 game, Final Fantasy IX - and it only took a few mins to download, and that is even with a ton of tabs open. https://www.vizzed.com/play/final-fantasy-ix-psx-online-playstation-34553-game

zanderlex : Let me rephrase that: I first noticed the problem in the early morning when I turned on my computer. However the problem now seems to be occurring pretty much at any time without any pattern I can discern.

Jordanv78 : The computer I am using is Asus Intel Core 64bit. I just clicked that game and it took 4 minutes for the first blue downloading bar to even show up and about 5 more minutes for it to move so, I logged in to our Cox account- my boss just downgraded to 10Mbps X 2Mbps 2.0. That would explain the lag specially since we have a huge database running through our server to all computers.

So, there goes that. Guess no PSP games for me at lunch lol. Now, the site itself taking time to download that I am not sure it happens from time to time around noon ET.

jlove92 : Sounds like the problem is most likely your connection, especially considering the speed and the activity on it. During peak times for work, like now, your speed is probably not going to work to download big PS1 games, although you could play games that you've already downloaded on your hard drive.

Also, I noticed you mentioned your computer specs. What processor does it have, and how much ram? Just for information sake.

Jordanv78 : My lunch is quite around peek time.
Okay got it, that I know by memory but, we have passwords for everything when accessing our computers and had to look through our book of passwords to get the one to access My Computer Properties- so sorry it took long. So annoying lol.

RAM 8.00GB (7.68 GB usable).
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40GHz

The computer itself is very decent for gaming of course nowhere near close to a gaming computer so definitely has to be the internet connection and this change on the plan just last month from my boss aka Mr. Krabs should do it.

I am actually building a computer at home from some old ones he threw out since my dear friends that helped me move and ended up making potato salad of my 2 laptops

jlove92 : That's cool. I just wanted an idea of what type of PC you were working with. That should be sufficient to play PS1 games on with little to now lag. Sounds like your problem is what we talked about in previous replies to this thread.

Similar to what I said before, you could download the games at home if you are able to take that computer home, then once you have the files on your laptop, you would be able to play them on your lunch without having to DL them again.

Vanelan : Indeed, it seems more frequent now than before the server changes. The problems are just annoying; the time out usually lasts less than 2 minutes. I just need to remember to copy and paste posts before hitting the send button.
