According to my research of my songs to this day more than 100+ votes
that have no SNES again. 250 I can see together rated 92 on a 4 and 26
with 5 to give the 118 .Most are seen on the Playstation family

edit: well, i must've skipped over and read the OP post of this thread too fast the other day. so if snes is off and we shouldn't just rate songs randomly, what exactly SHOULD we be rating here? cause most of what i rated was from games i picked at random which i knew had good songs and most of THOSE were snes.

you should know that this is my favorite type of music.

what? you don't have Clash on the big bridge in FFV's soundtrack? OH, it's listed as Battle with Gilgamesh instead. that, the FFXII version, and the FFXIII versions are among my top favorites from final fantasy. one of my favorite enemies in the franchise too.

FF games, blue dragon...kinda hard for me to give any of Mr. Uematsu's work a low rating.

Davideo7 : If I checked my songs ratings correctly, I have rated a 108 non snes songs thanks for this wonderful feature. Also thanks for looking into getting the songs that I asked for up to be rated, if there is ever a playstation specific song rated opportunity I will make sure to add those to my rating lists right away.

Davideo7 : Hey I have rated over 100 non SNES songs. I was mainly looking for some of my favorite games and pick my favs to rate that I thought was at least a 4 so that's why all of mine are 4's and 5's because they are from my fav games. And I made a play list with some of my all time favorite songs. I believe I have like 105 no snes songs rated.

I just added a bunch of N64 soundtracks and I'll continue adding them over the next day or so. I'm also still finishing up getting the rest of the Sega Genesis soundtracks added. Next I'm going to be focusing on Nintendo NES and then PlayStation. I'll be making a separate thread each time I finish up a system (which I've been doing already).

Davideo7 :   I'm not knocking you.  This is a great deal, to garner Viz.  I was just confused by your wording.  I think it was my fault.

You emphasized 'no random songs,' so I started going through and voting on each and every "Ace Combat 4" song, (a game whose music I enjoyed,) so that my choices didn't seem "random."

Now, when I look at your criteria posting, I believe I've done the opposite of what you wanted.  If I did, it wasn't intentionally.  I listened to all of them.

Is it objectionable that I picked one game and started voting on each song of the game?  Should I be focusing more on widely known songs, like the theme to "Super Mario Bros." or "The Legend of Zelda" games?

I thought that by sticking to one game, I was avoiding the label of "random."  Now, I think I've done the opposite of your intent.

Could you clarify for me?

I think I'm over 50 non-SNES songs rated. And can I say that since you've added more consoles this feature is SO GOOD. It was already awesome with only SNES games, but I had to keep stopping myself when I wanted to find a retro game soundtrack I already knew and remembered "nope, that's not SNES." So now that you've got NES, N64, Genesis, Turbografx, GBA, and a lot of assorted games on other consoles... well, I've been coming to that page a lot.

I know it must be tedious uploading all these soundtracks, even weird ones that you must think, "what even is this and why would someone listen to it?" I mean, you expect games like Castlevania, Sonic, Contra, etc., but to look for and actually find some bargain bin sports game no one even cared about when it came out, or some absurdly obscure RPG that was only released in Japan but just happens to have amazing music... well, it's a nice feeling. So again, thanks for sticking to it and setting this whole thing up.

(And dude! You have the Sega CD BIOS music! That's so weird but it's so cool!)

I didn't feel like making a thread about this but I've fixed the graphics of songs. Before it was only working properly with SNES games and for non-SNES games it either didn't display any graphic or displayed the title screen of a random SNES game.

I treat this music feature the same way I treat the RGR; I want it to be complete. In other words, my ultimate goal is to get every song for every game (or at least every retro game). There's someone out there that has a fond memory with literally every game ever made and sometimes the music of those games are iconic and memorable and are just nostalgic to listen to. There's a lot of hidden gems that have great music and there's even some bad games that have great music. It's just great to slowly get all of them added to the site.

Regarding the Sega CD bios, I figured that'd be something unique to have added for sure. The music of the Model 1 and Model 2 US Sega CD systems are awesome, especially the Model 2. It might just be the nostalgia I have for it but I'd say the menu music in the Model 2 SCD is on my top 25 favorite video game songs ever and it's not technically a video game song lol. I hope to get more bios songs added eventually.

Heyy! I finished rating over 100 of my favorite non-SNES songs mostly final fantasies and the like but dipped into some childhood games. Forgot how damn good that song from 'Battletoads' (Gen) is ha ha. and no one has rated 'Zombies ate my neighbors'? That's just silly.

I went through and rated the music on some of my old favorite N64 and Genesis games, so I should be over 100 now. Thank you for the chance to earn Viz by reminding myself of some classics!
