Do you think anyone has the courage to do a Wheel of Time series?

I just got through watching one episode of "The Shannara Chronicles" on MTV and it looks pretty good. I know it probably would take a lot of time, but I wonder if someone could pick up on The Wheel of Time series written by Robert Jordan? Or Dragonriders of Pern series written by Anne McCafferey would do.  This show has got me wanting to read Terry Brooks series again.

I loved Wheel of Time but those books are HUGE and the amount of time it would take to tell even half the story would be insane.

I would totally want them to do it of course but I don't know if anyone would take that on. It's a pretty huge undertaking and would be expensive to produce. I'd love to see the first book taken on though. That one is small enough in scale that you could probably do it and maybe get people hooked. You'd have to wait until Game of Thrones is done before you bother though. The audience would probably crossover a lot and I wouldn't want to try and keep up with both shows.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I saw an article somewhere about a Wheel of Time TV series being made. It's not much of an article, but I managed to go back and find it. It pretty much confirms it's being worked on by the editor and author of the book series. I've never been into (or even heard of) them, but hopefully this brightens your day a little

Mynamescox44 : this makes me so happy! Seriously. I've read the entire series twice through in the last 5 years (since the last book came out ish) maybe once before and then once after the last book. I don't remember the timing.

Either way, if this gets the right network backing it and enough of a budget to be done properly then it should be good. The one thing they need to do though is to limit the characters in this. There are so many characters in this series that trying to have them all on the TV show would be really difficult.

I definitely want to see this if it actually gets done.
