have you ever been to Waffle House after 1am? Let me tell ya,it's a whole 'nother beast! I have been working for Waffle House for 2 years now and I am beginning to fully understand why Waffle House has its own company shrink. This thread will be a ongoing testament to the special kind of stupid I must be.

True story: I had a table of 7 last night. They had been out celebrating one of thems birthday and were completely table licking drunk.One of them kept saying I was not intelligent because I worked as a waitress at WH. Getting louder and louder each time he said it. Little did he know, a couple of very good friends were sitting behind them. While I was trying not to verbally level this guy,Jersey,my friend overheard the disrespectful remarks and stands up. Now Jersey is a 6'3 350 lb biker. The look on Jerseys face when he stood up told you he was furious. The look on the obnoxious dudes face was priceless. Even more priceless was the look on the drunk dudes face when Jersey followed him out when he announced that he wasn't going to pay his ticket.
The moral of the story? Watch what you say to your server, she might have friends in low places that will beat an etiquette lesson into your behind.

Never understood why people think so little of servers. They think they're less than human or something, but they sure don't want them all to quit and make them lose their precious restaurant/fast food stop. Honestly one of the smartest people I know worked at a hamburger place for five or six years. It's a respectable and honest job. Don't listen to idiots.

I've always held a high amount of respect for Waffle House servers. They do their job so well, they're usually pretty kind and friendly, and watching them work really shows you that they work pretty hard.

Someone as disrespectful as that should probably either stop drinking or find somewhere else to eat. There's just no kind of excuse for that sort of behavior..

Like I said in your newbie thread, I really like Waffle Houses. I usually pop in at about 2-3 in the morning and when I don't know where to go in town. Every time I do so, there's a new crazy story.

I remember one time I played the jukebox and the waitress started singing. She was really good. Like I can see people buying her music good. Then we just started dancing!

I haven't seen anything like what you said yet. But I have seen of a costumer busting in, slightly drunk, in the middle of a night yelling about being stolen from by one of the workers and the manager talks him out of the door and keeps an eye on him while calling the taxi.

That is hilarious. I respect waitresses purely for putting up with these kinda of people. Your patience is on a whole new level. I never understood why servers are treated badly by customers. I am just thinking "HELLO! These are the guys giving you your food. They'll order extra spit or something if you keep that up!". Sometimes it's nice to have a muscle behind you, eh? I've only been to a Waffle House once, and I remember it being pretty great.

Unfortunately, I have had more than my fair share of encounters with disrespectful people. I worked as a petitioner for a couple months this past fall, which instantly makes me one of the most hated people in whatever city I'm in, and I could go on for hours with stories of people spitting at me or worse. Really makes me sad for our priorities as a nation.
