Just a heads up everyone, we'll be starting back with scarlot's second rap.  Wolffrey should not have posted here, and I've addressed that with him (although I do appreciate his interest).  Now, on with the show!

Tyrian Delirium :

As maybe not the greatest forum rapper known to some
But the one who is without a doubt better than Delirium

Back up now, former champion is exactly what you are

Anyways, the point I'm making with this attack
Is that as far as I see, you have rhymes that are whack.
You have a little flow I will give you that one.
But take a good look, Scarlot's the new champion.

Sorry I didn't vote on the last one, I was very busy with work and have not had much time for myself let alone Vizzed.

I'll be fine for the next while though, so I'm in.

For the record I would have voted for ghostbear as well.

User had a solid rap, but kind of blew it at the end. It was neck and neck until ghostbear went on the attack, and once he did, user had no real answer.

This round is actually super tough for me to judge.

Because of how close it is, I'm going to break it down, for both your sake, and mine.

scarlot's first rap, was honestly the weakest rap of the four posted, which is bad, since you want to lead well, and finish strong. And when you are the first person to rap, you have to lead well, since you aren't going to get the last chance to rap. scarlot failed pretty poorly in this regard. If scarlot loses this round, it will be BECAUSE of the poor start. It felt like he was trying too hard, and just didn't know what to do. It's clear this was his first time.

Tyri's first rap wasn't much better, making it clear the battle would be determined in the end stages of the contest. Either he didn't put in the effort needed (which, as he's said many times in the past, is kind of like him) or he was saving his best stuff for his closing salvo. Though it wasn't a horrid analogy, I kind of felt awkward hearing a Robin Williams drop, because of what a childhood hero he was to me. I'm removing all bias, however, from the equation. I don't know how much I like the implication, but I'll let it slide. Either way, neither opening rap was all that good, and it's definitely going to be determined in the final round.

Then scarlot's second rap is underway, and this is much much better. He seemed to have gotten into the flow of things, and he had a few solid jabs that you really need to advance far in a bigger tournament. He's definitely got confidence in his abilities, whether or not that is deserved. Whenever you go up against a former champion, the deck is stacked against you, and in a way, I feel bad for scarlot, since his first (and possibly only chance) comes in a short tournament where he just happened to draw Tyri. I think it's a little early for him to call himself the champion, but I'll give points for style and flair.

Tyri's final rap is up, and it needs to be a good one, otherwise, I'm going to give the Leggy Point to scarlot. He has the advantage of finishing, which I've always honestly felt is the easiest to do, since you get to say whatever you want, and the other person can't throw another salvo at you. I keep things like this in consideration, however. I like the Sherlock Holmes dig, it's clever. It was also a bit... vicious. I'm not sure how much I really like it. I do like that he came back with something that was tailor made for scarlot, but I don't really know. It's so f***ing close.

All told, if I was giving out point totals, both competitors would get a solid 8, and I'd ask for a third round to determine the winner of this clash. But I don't think we can really do that. When tasked with picking a winner, accounting for the level of raps, the level of difficulty with going first, compared with the ease of going last, and the overall flow of the contest, I'd have to give my point to Tyri.

The reason scarlot loses this clash, 100%, is the opening rap, which is the HARDEST thing to do when you are a newbie in the competition. I've never competed, but watched every single one, and almost every single time, the person who has gone first has had a sub-standard first rap. It's an unenviable position to start from, and scarlot was just unlucky to draw the first one in his first contest. I actually wish we were doing a double-elimination tournament, because I think there's room to grow here, and seeing a rematch between the two would have the potential to go either way. (Are we doing double or single-elimination? If the latter, poor scarlot. If the former, Tyri will need to step up his game.)

legacyme3 : It's single elimination, but there is a loser's bracket to determine third and fourth place.  User and whomever loses this match will be taking each other on then.

I propose for the next rap battle tournament that we make it double-elimination. It would lengthen it a tad, but I think it would actually force competitors to really flex their creative muscles to avoid being repetitive.

I apologize for not being very active recently. My laptop broke and I haven't been able to come online to do this. Even now, I don't have a lot of time (and there's a thread I want to make soon), so I'll keep this judging short as well. Similarly to what leggy said earlier, the first two taps were weaker than the second raps of both users. So for me it comes down to execution, and unfortunately for scarlot, Tyrian executed his raps better overall. There were a few parts of scarlot's rap that seems like it could've been rephrased to make a bit more sense and flow better, but in another close match I'm giving Tyri the edge.
