My family celebrates Christmas more for the Christ part of it, so I was told straight up that Santa wasn't real. I'm pretty glad that I never had to deal with the confusion that is finding out Santa isn't the real deal.

Davideo7 : I stopped a few years back. Nobody ever came out and said it, but as I grew older, I realized it's a bit impractical. I think I was around 15 when I really started doubting he was real.

I'm not entirely sure how old I was but I think it was when I was in first grade I might've been like 6 or something. I remember being quite adamant about it because I used to read this book about Santa being real. Even though my mom didn't hide the fact that she was getting me presents she still used to let me believe that Santa was real and whatever I got in my christmas stocking was from him. I remember seeing something on TV making fun of if so that's hen I went to her and I guess she decided I was old enough to learn the truth. I got a bit angry and didn't believe her at first especially since I was big on believing in magic and stuff like that when I was a kid probably thanks to watching disney movies a lot which is probably where I first learned of the concept and she just entertained the idea up until that point. But I eventually accepted it and remember later getting into an argument at school trying to explain that he wasn't real to someone.

geeogree : I leaned the truth when I learned how to use logic which was about 6 or 7, I mean I don't think a fat red man flies on a sleigh and has the metabolism of a god since he eats all the cookies and milk in the world left for him. It's pretty much basic logic that this is very unlikely to be true.

I think I was around 7 or 8 years old. My brothers told me since they are just so mean and always want to spoil it for me lol. I guess I was too cheerful and staying up very very very late to see Santa upset them because if I didn't go to sleep Santa would not come hence they would have to wait longer to get their gifts so they figured it was best to break the news to me so I'll stop waiting up all night. Backfired because I was up waiting to see what lies my mom would tell me to get me to go to sleep and I made it my mission to catch her putting the presents under the tree... Never successful so, I just gave up and followed my brother's advice go to bed early and get your presents sooner. Now, she totally spoils my gifts; she cannot keep a secret and tells me what my sister is getting me. She already told me by mistake last week- looks like I'm getting a lot of games and controllers to play these retro games rather than annoying keyboard. Nice to know mom! But, as for my future children, I will make sure they see Santa lol; I'll get the outfit and all I think it's fun to believe in it as a child it brings so much joy and fun.

I don't remember exactly when it was that I learned that the presents left for me were really from my parents, but if I had to guess, I would say around 8 or so. I just remember it being an unspoken thing for years with my mom where I just kinda played along with the whole thing even for several years after that. She knew I knew...and vice versa.

Actually the holidays was one of the rare times my family was somewhat normal, so I always looked forward to that time of year growing up lol

I wanna say I was 8 or 9 when I learned Santa didn't exist. I got a little stingy at Christmas, and wanted to know what I got late at night. Now, I don't remember every little detail, but I saw my dad wrapping up my presents, and then I went into my room and cried, as that's how I realized Santa wasn't real. It was sad, but hey, I got over it. I remember when I was 11, my mom asked if I wanted to take a photo with a mall Santa, and I told her "Mom, I know Santa's not real, it's okay." and she smiled.

I learned the truth about Santa around 7-8 years old.  I learned it at school.  A friend told me that she asked her mom about Santa, and her mom said he'd be coming in the door.  The next person to come to her house was her dad.  I guess that was her mom's way of telling her about Santa.  I didn't believe her at first, and asked my parent's about Santa.  They told me the truth, as well as the truth about the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny.  They also explained they were fun things for kids to believe since we were naive enough to believe them.  After that I helped them keep the secrets for my younger brothers.  I remember helping my mom put money under my brother's pillow for a tooth around age 10.  My dad got caught once wrapping presents with me by my brothers.  They asked what was going on, and I said Santa has been real busy this year so we're helping him wrap presents for you guys, and they believed me.

geeogree :

I always knew Santa wasn't real the moment all the bullies got expensive gifts and I had nothing. However, most of the kids at my orphanage was told roughly around 13-14 years. From what I remember they basically was like, "We kind of knew already but we didn't want to tell you because we knew you were making a sacrifice to make us happy."

I hope this helps a little.
