I've had enough and now had to make a thread based on this. For some reason the Sega Saturn games have stopped working for me from when I was going to do the music competition of Gen 5, some people know this. After David fixed the site due to site traffic it still didn't work for me and I would really like to play some Saturn games. They used to work for me in the past. I got Erick to help me but for some reason the Saturn games works for some other people, and don't work for some others which I find really weird. as it is meant to be working for everyone. I get the logos to come on then I wait for the title screen to show, but it doesn't it goes blank with a black screen. I even have to jump start it as that never happened before. because it would work on its own. I tried this idea of deleting the files and reinstall it. I thought that were to work but it didn't. I don't think its my end that is the problem. I think the game will not work itself because for some others and me it will need fixing. I've had it up to my head with this problem. And I am not the only one experiencing this.

I still cant get Vizzed's plugin to work either, but I've gotten good at setting up emulators meh-self. =3

b.tokin : She wants to enter a contest which requires you record from the vizzed plugin. I don't think setting up an external emulator will help here...I am sure Enii appreciated that you are trying to help though.

Eniitan : As I mentioned in the pm I just sent, we'll look through the error logs and see if we can pin point the problem here.
If other Saturn games are working, it doesn't make sense for this one not to...

I did try a Saturn game months ago (not sure when) but it didn't work. It's simply that every game I've tried using MESS doesn't work, no matter the system. I don't really know why MESS doesn't work for me, but it's not the first time I've experienced an emulator working one day and malfunctioning the day after.

I know I'm not being of much help, but have you tried MESS on any other system besides Saturn?

Eniitan : Sorry for the trouble that you are having with regards to Saturn Games.

I went ahead and tested Sonic 3D blast as well as another game and here are my results.

Testing using Chrome V. 46.0.2490.86

Windows 10

Sonic 3D Blast - I got it to load, but initially after downloading the rom It froze on a black screen after finishing the DL. After that, I closed out the window and re-opened the game. After doing so, the game indeed loaded the intro, but then froze to black screen after the intro played.

After the intro played, the game went black again and froze at that point. Pressing reset has the same results

Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean - Game and intro load up ok, but then I get a strange error through the emulator itself

VDP1: Sprite List Illegal 0F, contact MAMEdev

Won't let me advance the screen past the intro at all. Not sure if this is a function of the game itself or not (which is common with older CD games) But I'm able to play the game ok once the LONG INTRO is over.

Megaman 8 - Game loads up ok and starts no problem after a short intro. This game works the best out of the 3 I tried.

After deciding to look into this issue further, I noticed that the MESS developer has a list of Saturn games that are known to cause issues with MESS. This list actually shows a few of these errors that I've noticed myself. This list is pretty extensive too.

This sounds like a situation where the emulation is sort of hit or miss, which is common for many of these more modern systems.

There were a few of gfx issues, but it was playable...
So there is something on her end that isn't working right.

I was able to play Sonic 3D Blast, which is what Eniitan is trying to play.
Can you provide a link so I can just double check we tried the same version? I believe there were 2 on the RGR.

Jordanv78 : A sterling new revelation you guys....I went to test this on my laptop and it works as clean as possible. So how in the hay is it not working for my desktop computer? I would love to record from here but I can't because of my fan it will disrupt the flow of the music. And van I'll pm you to see what I mean and why I don't record things on my laptop anymore.

I dunno why, but it stopped working for me...until I deleted the CHD in this folder and let it re-extract...
