I'm asking because people at the school I go to say that Pokemon is childish and one of them said that I'm gay, just because i play Pokemon and Pokemon is for babies, which is completely absurd. I think that they try WAY too hard to market Pokemon for children. The video games aren't too bad, but the TV show is just insultingly kiddie. Make something that won't embarrass teenagers pl0x.

I'm 19 years old, and I play pokemon. And, the games are getting increasingly harder with each new one, so I dont think it's for kids. the show doesnt do the games any justice however. If you watch the new episodes and are older then 10, you've got some problems

The only thing about Pokemon that in my mind ISN'T childish are the games. The tv show is an absolute wreck, and might be beyond repair at this point. The cards are okay, but there's no real point in collecting them because no one is going to call there friend over to play Pokemon unless your like 9. While the games can be boring I wouldn't call them childish.

Nintendo's marketing =/= the fanbase, it is only to young for you if YOU believe it is to young for you. I mean, look at who goes to the tournaments mostly! Teenagers and Young adults go just as much as kids.


Now, that's not to say kids can't play them. It's just that the games get better as you get older. Also, it is of note that things such as Pokemon, while they are usually scorned in high school, it becomes more acceptable to play them in collage. (At least that's what I've heard - I obviously are not in collage yet.)
