Hello world!
I made this account almost a year ago, but never got around to introducing myself in the forums. Better late than never! The first game I played here is Mother 3, and I absolutely love it to bits. It got me exploring the rest of the game room for gems like this. In the past, I've played Ne*pets, Gaia*nline, Runesc*pe, M*plestory---online games like that, so these (classic) retro games are a new, exciting genre for me. (They've been censored as a precaution against advertising.) A thousand thank yous to the owner and the people who support this site to make it free to play!  

In my free time, I like to eat, sleep, more sleep, draw, read, watch...a variety of things (anime, k-drama, Game of Thrones, my youth slipping away, etc.). Nice to meet you all!

So then, it sounds as though you have an affinity for RPGs. If you enjoy Action RPGs, I highly recommend Neutopia II: it's like The Legend of Zelda, only better. Yeah, I just said that. *dodges more tomatoes*

Also, what is this "sleep" of which you speak? It sounds lovely, but I am sadly unaccustomed to such a thing.

And of course if there's anything we can do to help you enjoy your time here, let us know and I promise we will do our best to do just that...assuming of course it's helping you with a forum or RGR/VGR problem. Otherwise you're just in trouble because we can't help in life matters, and even if we tried we'd be bound to mess it all up. You're welcome for the warning. lol

Hope that you have a great time while you are here, there's plenty of things for you to do and talk about here and a ton of games for you to play as well so I doubt that you will ever be bored.

As for the OP...

You don't need to worry so much about advertising those sites. While there isn't much to talk about with regards to them on this site, saying you originally come from Neopets or Gaia Online isn't a big deal. Saying "Come play with me on Gaia Online" however, would be advertising.

At any rate, it's nothing to worry about, you are in the clear

Hello! I'm new here too, well kinda. I've had a previous account before, but deleted it. I also have played GaiaOnline and posted on there quite a bit lol. I still sometimes visit it. But I'm just now getting around to playing Mother 3. Pokémon games brought me here. I'm a sucker for RPGs lol.

My username is definitely inspired by something along those lines. My old laptop can't handle the high quality graphics of TERA, or most MMORPGs these days. It runs pretty slow in that regard, like around...two frames per second. *badum-tss*
Yep, I'm fond of RPGs because of their stories, and the new world they create. Also, those are ballsy words! How dare you---pique my interest! I'll definitely start playing that soon. Thanks for the warm welcome and recommendation!

I'd avoid double posting. In general, it's not really "allowed", but people make mistakes.

The more fringe worthy thing is sandwich posting. You'll find out what is accepted and what isn't just by posting here more, but basically, it's discouraged to post back and forth with a single person over and over. (Like you, me, you, me, you, me, without letting other people join the conversation).

For times when you want to get into that sort of conversation, generally, PMs do a better job, without clogging up the forums.

However, it's a little enforced rule. At this point, the site actually has a system in place where the site prevents you from going back and forth a certain amount of times. For the most part, post how you feel, and if there's an issue, a moderator will explain what you are doing wrong, and suggest how to help.

legacyme3 : Wow that was fast! Thanks for the thorough explanation. It's really nice how the site strives to promote a forum where everyone can jump in any discussion. I can totally respect that. 

A lot of people when they first join would use one post to reply to each person, and that's not allowed.

Hmm... I've done double posting while replying to individual people in my own newbie thread and wasn't told otherwise... well then *awkward moment of realizing noob mistakes*.

zanderlex : The community here is very open and friendly, and there's a variety of active topics for discussion that's not limited to gaming. It's a pleasant surprise! Although I'm used to posting very short casual messages (like on Twitter/Imgur), seeing others post paragraphs fills me with determination to expand on my thoughts. I think I will enjoy it here.

Amiably Otaku :  There's no specific rule about it in the FAQ, but double-posting is generally seen as spam in online forums. Since your posts didn't seem like spam, they let it go? That's how I see it.

Also, thanks for the welcome! Haha, let's just say I wish I have the ability to magically and suddenly teleport like everyone else.
