Saved game being deleted for unknown reason..

I edit my post on the newbie forums to ask about this but I know from past experiences that barely anyone reads intro's or newbie forums.

Anyway I way playing pokemon blue and had been for about 2 hours, I'd bought it with my Viz so I didn't think there would be any problems.

So anyway, at first the game froze and I pressed F5 to refresh, the FIRST time I did this everything was all well and fine and I was returned to my last save point. But it froze again after I had just got past the last point at which it froze.

After doing this I saved it to make sure I wouldn't have to repeat my actions a third time. So I fought one more trainer and the game froze again; I routinely pressed F5 only to get to the start menu and only have the options of a new game or the 'options' menu.

tl;dr: My saved data deleted itself after the game froze. What can I do? and will it happen again if I restart the game?

maybe you can't save in pokemon games on here yet. try a different pokemon game, there are a lot of them on here. it maybe just that game. some games just don't saved right or freeze like that. all i can say is try a different pokemon game...
