Well, just this Spinach. Apparently Dole branded Spinach is recalling all bagged spinach in more than a dozen mid and eastern states such as New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts because some samples have been found to possibly be connected to Salmonella, though nobody has been affected yet that has been reported.

This kind of makes me scared to eat spinach, especially because I was about to get a Spinach roll right before class.

Is this US only, or did it affect other countries as well? 

It sounds pretty scary, but once in a while there's always some kind of strange food that's called back because it contains some kind of disease or something. About 1-2 years ago, it turned out a lot of meat here in the Netherlands was horsemeat instead of pork or beef like the packages said for example.

janus : What do you mean? Dif it sound too good to not click? I don't think this kind of disasr can be cleaned off after its been infected, though its only been one batch, narrowed down to all the spinach that has a specific expiration date.

What's with the misleading title? lol

Spinach is great for you, but this processed pre-packaged stuff sometimes comes across issues. It's not the first time that some processed and packaged produce has produced salmonella.

Also, you are much more likely to get Salmonella from Chicken and Eggs and the like. Are you going to stop eating those as well? lol

Seriously? Why does this salmonella scare happen every year or two with something new? Peanut Butter one year, next it's peppers, next it's lettuce, then cucumbers, and now spinach? You'd think the health departments would be on the ball a little more since all of these scares started up.

Anyway, glad to see it doesn't affect me because I eat spinach just about everyday. Hopefully no one actually does contract it.

Trader Joe's seems to had several of them over the years. The FDA,no matter how vast and far reaching,will never be able to stop every case of contamination. We all have Upton Sinclair to thank and his book, "The Jungle"
