Production has recently begun on the new Assassins Creed movie based on the video game series and pictures from the movie have started to go online as well. Michael Fassbender will be starring in the film, after starring as Magneto in the last two and upcoming X-Men First Class series movies.

I really am excited for this. It shouldn't be hard for it to be very loyal to the games.

In my opinion, it will be more or less what Prince of Persia was. Of course, we are talking about a much more famous franchise, and with a character and a story much closer to reality instead of relying in superpowers or mystic abilities.

It sure has potential, but I fear they may try some experiments with the movie and completely ruin the project, like happened with Dragon Ball Evolution. Hope it doesn't happen.

A user of this : I have seen the actor in some of his other works and he's done great jobs with his role so even if the video game aspect sucks, hopefully the story, dialogue and acting in general could be pretty cool.

I'm always torn when I see an actor who has become so attached to a certain character like Michael Fassbender has with Magneto for me that it will be weird to see him as another comic/video game character. I always prefer to see someone "new" take the role.

Still, I think he's a good actor and should do the part justice. I'll definitely check it out but my hopes are not high. Like Ex Palen has said - there are some bad ones out there (like DB Evolution) so I don't want to get too excited before getting a look at some sort of teaser.

I'm not an assassins creed fan but it kind of looks good. I may not watch it anyway not after the horrible experience to do with as said dragonball evolution. my brother used to play a lot of the game and I would watch him. That's why now I am being cautious of how I spend my money to watch something in the cinema. '-'

Yes, I am VERY exited for this movie. Every since the first Assassin's Creed game, people have noticed how much potential it has to be turned into a movie. And I agree! The game is cinematic (like unlocking new places on the map by climbing towers and then there's that whole cutcene ) and it wouldn't be hard to copy that into a movie (Drones!). Also, the games rely a lot on historic figures and real people, so I really hope they do that sort of thing in the movie. As far as I know, the time period in which the movie happens is not known yet, but I hope they make the best out of any situation they choose! Like I said, it has HUGE potential, and all we can do is hope they don't mess it up.

gamelover1231 : I've never played one of the games myself, but have seen how epic they can be, and with the kinds of stories that they use, mixed in with the environment, can really lead to an epic movie. I really believe that if they do everything right, this could probably be the best video game movie ever.

I would probably watch it if the trailer looks good enough.
