Whenever you go into a place like GameStop or EB Games, all of the games are grouped into their own little sections based on their system. You will have PS3 games with PS3 games, and 3DS games with 3DD games. Mist of these stores have small PC game sections, but starting now thsoe sections will be broken up to allow Steam Games to have their own section apart from standard PC games.

I dont really know how this would work but I'm curious to see it.

That's pretty awesome. My local GameStop only has one tiny section for PC games at the moment - it's usually paired with old school controllers for like Gamecube and stuff.

I'm not sure I would be particularly interested in actually buying a hard copy of a PC game being my gaming PC doesn't have a disc drive, but it's sill pretty neat none-the-less. I guess this ties back to the GameStop CEO talking about how "disc-based games are here to stay." He is even pushing for a bigger and hopefully better steam section.

It'll be neat if they can get collectors editions for PC games there, otherwise I feel like a lot of people will just buy it directly off steam since it'll be faster for most people than going to a retailer.

Skilledtree : So they aren't together with the PC games and so all of the cases are together in one place. It would be a mess trying to go through both PC and Steam so separating them makes it so much easier and it also allows the stores to add so many more games to any collections that they might have for Steam.

I don't think Steam sections can work unless it is just advertising to get gamers to see what Steam is, so they go get a powerful computer to play their games on PC, which then sucks them up into the PC Master Race, where all console peasants will bow to their godliness!! Excuse me, got off track. I can't see any physical Steam games getting sold, unless they give you the download to the game, which is still redundant, as we can buy the games right from the comfort of our homes.

Are you serious? My local GS doesn't even have a thousand games. It's so tiny. Why would you need to go to a game store to buy hard copies? How do they keep up with normal steam sales? Also would holiday GS sales and steam sales stack? I have so many questions to this weirdevent.

Including multiple copies, my small tore probably has at least 5000 games just for PS4, with at least 500-1000 on the shelves.

I have seen these before in the stores near me, but it's mostly because of all the new devices that Steam has, such as the new Steam Link and the Steam systems and controllers. I wouldn't buy from there though, I'd still prefer to download right from Steam.
