Hello i just installed the new 2.40 update and went to go play some pokemon on vgba and i pulled up the menu to change my controllers for my keyboard and i cant change anything it doesnt do anything when i hit a button...please help

With the VGBA emulator, I personally have to double tap the game screen, and then I input the controls. Are you making sure that the window is the active window when you do it? (I can also do it with a PS4 controller, so I am quite certain that it still works with the keyboard)

I know it's a silly question, but did you try closing and re opening the game window? It's possible that it stopped working - it does that to me sometimes.

Alright, well let's try one last thing that I'd do before passing this off to one of the staff. Try reinstalling the plugin. (Also, maybe try using the alternate browser to what you're using. I personally use Firefox instead of Chrome)

alucard35744 : This is a pretty common issue that's been happening for some people with VBA for awhile now. I'm not quite sure why it happens, but you could try using the Mednafen emulator. Although that won't help you if you have a save already created for VBA since they don't transfer over between emulators.
