The next 2 days are going to be SUPER busy for me. Friday I have to close at work ( Meaning I won't get out until past 2am)  unless my boss sends me home at 10 and Saturday is my mom's wedding and my computer has decided that everything needs to be updated. My adobe flash player needs to be updated. I can't even enter chat until I update that and tons of other stuff on my computer needs to be updated. All of it is going to have to wait because I am about to have to go to bed for a busy weekend ahead... :/

So the question of this thread is have needed updates ever annoyed you especially when you were busy and trying to get things done? :p

What annoys me are my laptop updates.
They seem to always have a update when I don't want it too.
Mostly when I'm recording or almost done rendering/uploading a video :U
and sometimes I don't even get a warning it will just reset.

Yes it annoys me. What's worse that's usually when my computer decides to break down completely. I'll have to try to take it to get it fixed on a holiday or something whenever everybody's closed. To make matters worse I have to drive out of town to get it repaired (which is costly and I don't have the money). My computer always gives me problems, and this is an everyday thing for me. I wished I could just buy a new and be done with it!

My last job annoyed the living daylights out of me. Every day it was you have do this then the next day go a complete 180 into this project and finish stuff we put off for a month because my boss didn't want to risk her job just because she was lazy. It also annoyed me how every other day a new form of political correctness was thought up to baby the adult I had to supervise because some kids parents got upset with my tactic of treating their kid like an adult. But hey smooth sailing ever since I quit .

Updates usually annoy me no matter what time they show up or how important they are. Especially after I download an update and I don't like it as much as the previous version.

I got an update for a battery-saving app on my phone (Battery Doctor) and it doesn't work as well as it used to. It won't even let me save power anymore, which is the whole point of the app

Once in a great while I'll be busy on the computer and my avast! Security program is asking for an update that will require the computer to restart. That drives me crazy but I update it anyway since I know I should.

I hate it when I need something updated because literally 99% of the time it's updating something that I DO NOT use or even need, so it's just a waste of time trying to update it. Then, once everything gets updated, everything is so slow for a while and it gets so annoying. Even the actual updates take forever.

I just can't stand it when my Xbox One updates. Every time I turn it on when I haven't played in a little while there is always a big update. I just want to play a game or two before I have to go do other things. I end up just leaving the system to update and I would play days later. My brother always having to turn it off for me. I just don't have the patience to wait most of the time since it never fails to update. I miss having a game system that didn't need to update, you just play whenever you feel like it. * points at Nintendo 64 *

It's also annoying whenever I'm trying to shutdown my laptop and it updates before it actually shuts down.

Windows 10 feels like a non-stop update train. It drives me insane how often I need to update. Windows 10 itself updates, Avast updates, everything updates! It's driving me borderline insane how often things are being updated (which I guess is a good thing). It wouldn't be such a pain if it always seems to want to do it when I have stuff to do. Then again, if I'm on my computer, I probably plan on doing stuff on the computer haha.

Seriously though, why can't these things update themselves when my computer is in standby mode? It just seems like a much simpler solution. I don't know though, I'm not an expert in these things.

My laptop has a ton of updates every time I turn it on. So it takes FOREVER to turn on. Then I get a message saying that it couldn't install the updates! So then it takes another forever to undo the update. I finally figured out that my laptop had the option of not updating. But man...That was really painful.

Tell me about it. It's worse on windows 8.1 than anything.

In middle of typing a review or post, or something else, windows updates happen. Me: No.. gah there goes my work.

The worst part is when I don't see it coming and My computer does it without me knowing.

I wouldn't mind it too much, but windows 8 has a terrible restart time. It makes Vista look like a masterpiece. I had to sit through about 66 updates, because I had'em turned off.

So yes, updates annoy me. Most commonly on Operating systems.

I can not say it is annoying. Usually, updates can happen on their own without your knowledge - unless it uses a lot of bandwidth. The only annoying part for me is the insistence to restart, which fortunately can be delayed. However Windows 8.1 seems to have a feature that automatically restarts after a certain time. It never happened to me, but I hope to never find out the hard way...

I'm using Linux, so no forced updates for me.
Still, the computer does remind me of updates, it even tells me how much updates do I have to download, in megabytes. I mostly ignore the notifications though, and I'm even somewhat annoyed by them. I shouldn't be whining about it, seeing what horror are you guys facing with the forced reboot-updates and stuff.

I honestly don't mind PC updates that much. I have them scheduled to happen very frequently and always do so when the computer is idle in the middle of the night when I'm not using it. I know that with most of the udpates it's going to fix security issues that were found, or other bug fixes that I know will ultimately help me more often than not.

I do sometimes get annoyed when like 20 apps on my phone need to be updated, but that's just a minor annoyance.
