Since some games are very large that have been added recently, there's going to be some expensive games.

I'm going to use this opportunity to let everyone know of all the prices of all the games.

Prices by system:
Atari 2600: 5 Viz
Apple II: 7 Viz
Nintendo: 10 Viz
Game Boy: 10 Viz
Game Gear: 10 Viz
Sega Master System: 10 Viz
Game Boy Color: 25 Viz
Genesis: 25 Viz (recent price drop)
Super Nintendo: 25 Viz (recent price drop)
Sega 32X: 30 Viz
Game Boy Advance: 40 Viz
Nintendo 64: 50 Viz

Now large games for each of those systems will cost even more Viz; here's how much:
1-2 MB = 30 Viz
2-3 MB = 35 Viz
3-5 MB = 40 Viz
5-10 MB = 50 Viz
10-20 MB = 75 Viz
20-40 MB = 100 Viz
40-60 MB = 150 Viz (not many games)
60+ MB = 200 Viz (only 3 games are this big)

It only makes sense to make the really large games cost more Viz since they require a lot more bandwidth and more bandwidth means more money I have to pay.

EDIT: Also like to point out that rating a game gives you 25% of the total cost of the games (it was a flat rate of 10 Viz before). So rating a cheap 10 Viz game will only earn you 3 Viz but rating an expensive 50 Viz game will earn you 13 Viz. Even better, rating a 100 Viz game will earn you 25 Viz, so I encourage you guys to rate all the games you own, you'll get 25% of your Viz back! And if you decide to sell the game for 75% your Viz back after rating, you just got all of your Viz back.


Now here's what you guys really wanted to hear
Now, since some games that use the current plugin may not work, I'm reducing the prices of all N64, GBA, Genesis and 32X games by half until the Plugin 1.0 comes out. This is to help compensate for those who might get ripped off buying a game that may not work.

iv installed the new plugin, but the n64 games are still not workin...my operating system is windows xp and iv used both firefox and internet explorer. im not sure if its my computer or because the plugin is a beta. i hope this thread helps

I like the way you changed the rating rewards. It made some cheap games free if people rated them after playing them.

And while I have a laptop and don't pay, I do like the half price games for a while. It'll give people a chance to buy a few extra games than they would have otherwise been able to.

Exactly, plus it lets people help test out what games work and what doesn't. Ultimately I did it because I don't want people to pay a ton of Viz for a game that doesn't work for them, this compensates for that. Lastly, it's a good way to encourage people to play the games and hopefully also rate them.

Yeah, the new rating payout is definitely an improvement. I had actually done that, before, got 175% of the Viz I spent on a game that I didn't like, just by rating before selling. The lower prices while still in beta is a good idea too, that way no one can complain when the games don't work yet. Not only have they been warned that might happen, but they got a discount as well.
