I recently posted this on another thread, and while it was on my mind I thought I should post it here too.

The overall layout and functionality of the store is dreadful. Most important thing first, how if you buy an item, it will overwrite it, without even giving back Viz. A few days ago, I had some Viz gifted to me. I saw that I finally had enough for the PS1 access, so I went ahead and bought that and put it into slot 1. Now while I was there, I had a bit left so I decided to get the beta test ticket. So, because everything is so spread out, and how it doesn't do anything to tell you that slot 1 is taken, it goes ahead and overwrites, and poof it's gone, without even returning Viz.

It's not like I didn't see the warning at the top, I was trying to avoid it and somehow I still manage to put 50,000 Viz down the drain. The strange part is, it doesn't seem that hard to fix! Grey out the option, or give an error saying the slot is already taken, or at least return the viz! Also, as said before, the page is WAY too spread out. On my 27-inch monitor, I have to scan my eyes from the complete opposite side of the page and trace it with my eyes to make sure I'm buying the right one! I may be the only one with this complaint, but personally, I like to have everything in one area, so then I don't have to move my eyes around to find something.

No offense to the people that built this site though, this site has a lot to offer and a INCREDIBLE community and deserves way more attention than it is currently getting.

I wouldn't say sucks. I would put it more gently as saying it's good but it needs work.

I did the same thing as you did with some of my items once.

Yeah the slots though should be greyed out. Overwriting it just makes no sense.

And ouch.. that much viz? good grief.

SuperCrash64 : Yeah, I know I was exaggerating a bit. I just needed somewhere to take my anger out. It's not THAT bad, but is definitely frustrating.

Wha? Do you realize that Davideo7 alone created the entire item shop + coded it?

I think it's very creative.

I definitely think that the arrangement of the item shop should definitely be improved upon for easier access and usability. I had a similar situation happen to me back when I first joined the site, I believe I was buying the PlayStation item and then I proceeded to buy something else, and it completely overrode what I'd already placed in slot one. I don't find the functionality to be very user friendly, but I do agree that it can definitely be tweaked with some simple adjustments.

I'm sure the topic has come up before in the past, and David more than likely has plans to adjust it, but nonetheless, it wouldn't be very difficult to modify it to warn or prevent you from overwriting a pre-existing item, with a new one.

I could repay you your Viz if you would like. I don't use it for very much anyways.

I agree with zanesix, although I may have worded it more...tactfully.

tRIUNE : Wait, how many people worked on developing the site? Because if it's just David that's pretty impressive. But, I would imagine having more than a few people work on the site. Please excuse my "noobness"

Razor-987 : My issue is mostly solved due to some generous people here, but I wouldn't mind a donation for my troubles!

zanesix : There have been a few different developers in the early years of vizzed, but most of vizzed is now either re-coded or fully coded by David.

You can see who coded what on this page:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/controlpanel.php?category=help&help=terminology

or this page:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/aboutus.php

I think this problem, btw, about the item shop has been mentioned for about the past 2 years, by many users (myself included), so we are all waiting.

tRIUNE : To my knowledge, David is planning on revamping it soon. How soon, though, I'm not sure.

I do agree, it'd be much more convenient if used slots were made unavailable for new items. I'm sure it's something David has in mind, though.

yeah, this is an issue that David is fully aware of and simply hasn't had the time to dedicate to fixing it. It's not a major issue since we can simply fix the amount of Viz someone has if need be. However, this is something that should be fixed since people who donate get Viz and then use that Viz in an item shop that can easily be messed up.
