Legalize pot. Stop giving people draconian sentences for all drug charges and stop the "war on drugs." Rehabilitation should be touted as healing rather than punishment, and it should always come before prison.

There are certainly some drugs that should never have been created.  I agree that cannabis should be farmed for it's many uses as it can be readily available for so many different uses within a few months, rather than trees that take decades if not hundreds of years to farm.  Weed has many beneficial properties; from creating paper to curing cancer.  Not all "drugs" are bad, but most of them need not exist anymore

But as I said before I'm all for legalizing only one drug that is currently an illegal drug that drug is marijuana but that drug will never be legalized fully because it's illegal at the federal level so you can and always will be arrested for it plus you can't regulate or tax for it air go the governement can't profit from in being legalized in anyway so it will remain illegal.

Celestial Knight :   I see hundreds of posts with cannabis oil being used to fight cancer, without chemotherapy, and win.  I am sorry your family has succumbed to a man made disease, but it is curable in many ways.  I, my self, prefer a strong glass of lemon water and not eating processed foods with chemicals in them.  It is no wonder why we are dying so early in life.  I think the most important part of letting us grow marijuana is the fact that it can be used for so many things that trees take hundreds of years to make, thus saving the few forests we have left and preserving life all around

In my opinion, all should be legal. It should be the citizen's responsibility what (s)he does with him/herself.
If that won't happen, then I think that only marijuana used for medical purposes should be legalized.
That is, if the doctor tells you that you need marijuana.

Cannabis is a plant. It can be used as herbal medicine, but it's not a "drug". It grows on this planet freely. God made cannabis legal long before humans made up a bunch of silly rules about who can grow and possess flowers. I definitely think it will be legal in most developed countries within our lifetimes.

Well the media and government tent to make you think of drugs as only marijuana, heroine, crack etc. but, pharmaceuticals are a hell of a drug all chemically made and the side effects are very serious and many times deadly. I think pharmaceuticals should be banned and we should seek natural remedies, I think heroine and crack should remain illegal due to the proven damage to the brain and overall quality of life; however, marijuana should be legal as it has thousands of beneficial uses to man kind specially in the pharmaceutical market, more and more studies further prove its natural benefits.

jlove92 : why should heroin and crack remain illegal while tobacco isn't? Heroin "at least" can sometimes be used as a sedative. As for banning pharmaceuticals: they should instead be deregulated in order to let more businesses compete. This way prices will go down.

Amphetamine is a God given chemical substance. It can be used as a chemical stimulant. I don't see the part in the bible where God made it illegal anymore than he made Cannabis legal. (Was it illegal before God said so somewhere?) Who says the recipe for meth is not divine inspiration?


So wheat's your point? Just because weed grows on a bush doesn't make it any less of a drug or that if you want to bring God for some reason to it. Don't get me wrong. I am not against legalization of pot or for legalization of speed. But these arguments don't really move me.

Txgangsta : Unfortunately, there will always be fools who want to try them, ESPECIALLY with the "forbidden fruit" bait attached to it. Pretty much all drugs have been decriminalized for small quantities and usage rates have plummeted.

Drugs that are recognized for medicine are alright as long as they don't go over the amount prescribed to them. Illegal drugs such as meth and cocaine are dumb. It baffles me why people would do these things in the first place if all it's going to result in is bad health and a bad reputation.

LunarDarkness2 : I heard some people calling it "the bait of the forbidden fruit." Since it's illegal it has a strong attraction on some (defy parents, etc.) There are also those who want to experiment "new things" and, despite warnings, still want it.

They need to administer drugs and medicine properly because they allow any old thing in no matter whether it helps or does more damage especially in the US and UK I think.

I've grown up around alcoholism and addiction my whole life so this is definitely a comfortable subject for me.

Whether drugs/alcohol are illegal or not, they're going be used. What we need to do is focus on why people are using drugs. Addicts don't become addicts for fun- people choose to use drugs to escape pain. Think of the Rat Park experiment in the 1970's, or war vets coming back from the war (whom had used drugs) and then stopped once they were home. 

With pot becoming eventually legal in Canada, my hope is that they use the taxes generated from that towards more programs for rehab and detox. The more resources we offer to addicts, and to people in general, the less needed drugs will be (hopefully and eventually... it's a dream).
