I don't think it'll be as bad as they're predicting it will be. I don't know anything about earthquakes, but I can say that I honestly think they're blowing that out of proportion. Will there be a big earthquake? Yeah, but will it be bad enough to "change the landscape of the United States forever"? No, I highly doubt that. Then again, I really can't say that for sure.

News about upcoming disasters are everywhere. Yellowstone, for example, is due to erupt, and actually it's coming late if we see the chronological record of past eruptions. There's also the mega tsunami that will be caused when half of Gran Canaria, or another isle of the Canary archipelago, falls to the Atlantic, which is also due to happen as scientists have confirmed the island is splitting in two. 

We just know these events are due to happen, but we cannot make accurate predictions, basically because we still have a lot to learn from mother nature. Don't trust the TV, they know things like these give them big audiences.

Is it going to happen? Yes. Will any of us be alive by then? Probably not.

Don't get me wrong just because I'm European and out of danger, any big disaster like the one you announce concerns the whole world. It's not the world's end, simply because it's not a worldwide thing.

I honestly never heard of this before. When did they announce something like this. I guess i didn't hear of it since i live in the middle of texas but its still something i would like to know if people think it'll change the world. Also it could cause side effects too if it does happen and if it doesnt i at least would like to know if there was another end of the world scenario again. I like to kind of keep track of these things so i can tell people of the times people though the world would end but didn't.

First off, that article isn't about the west coast. The west coast is the San Andreas Fault, which yes, is supposed to create an earthquake soon because it happened every amount of years. However, that article is mainly about Canada, not the west coast.

Have a quake survival kit.  Quakes and Tsunami's will happen sometime on the west Coast but when they will happen nobody knows. There was a gigantic quake in Alaska in the 60's that caused a tsunami and did a lot of damage to Alaska.

Having Grown up in Portland Oregon, I can say that this particular situation is something that geologists have theorized for awhile. That the area is "Due" for another big seismic situation. The main reason being because the entire US west coast and Asia all have tons of fault lines running through/near them.

Unfortunately, there is nothing much we can do other than look for signs of activity and act accordingly.
