That's funny....I thought that I have already posted in this thread. Anyways let me begin.

In the beginning it was for games. I remember joining here for playing sonic 2, and for sonic 2 only. I didn't plan on wanting to socialize because of my past which you know of pac. But now that has changed. I don't play much games anymore. The main reason I am still here today is because of my friends. Why not?


It wouldn't make sense to go somewhere if I don't really have anything to do outside of my life. Therefore I am still here. ^^

I like to go on Vizzed for everything. The forums, the Retro Game Room, the Video Game Room, that sort of stuff.

I came here initially to play in the RGR (namely Harvest Moon).

Later I stayed for the forums. I loved writing reviews, posting threads, replying to whatever random things caught my attention.

Then I began making friends. People like GenesisJunkie, GuardianZack, and marcushoward made me discover the fun of talking with friends on here, rather than just random posting (though that's still fun).

Next I fell into being here simply because I can't bring myself to quit any undertaking, so I had to make sure I kept my Staff and Mod work up.

Now I've slipped into a mix of all of the above (minus the RGR), but my main reason hard to pick. It's a little bit posting, a little bit staff and mod work, and a little bit friends, though most of my friends aren't really talking anymore for various reasons, mostly because they're too busy to do anything.

Eniitan : I'm glad you changed your mind especially after your past It resulted in you having a lot of good friends and a lot more to do here. I don't play games that much on here anymore either, aside from doing it to take screenshots for my staff job.

Eirinn : That's pretty much what happened for me, in that order. I started off being here for the RGR, then I began posting in the forum. Through the forums I made some friends, then I stayed here for staff work. However, I actually have a main reason for my presence here XD

PacmanandMariofan : Its amazing how something or one little thing can change the person, no matter how bad that they used to be in the past. I guess its for the better right?

Originally, I joined for the purpose of playing games. But, I decided that I might want to get involved in the forums, so I made an introductory thread, and went from there. My first video game review was pretty typical for newbies:it was a wall of text with poor writing. But, of course, with time and practice, I improved a lot. Now, the main reason I'm on Vizzed is for the unique combination of things it has:gaming, forums, and game reviews all in one place. So far, I haven't found another site that works as well as Vizzed with the same features. There's that, and also the community. Honestly, even when the "family friendly" rule seems strict, it's kept this forum from degenerating into a pit of filth, which is an unfortunate fate that I've seen other forums fall victim to.

The main reason I come to vizzed is because of the RGR. I do like to read and respond to some of the threads that people write, rate games, talk to people in the chat box while I play, etc.

Eniitan : That's true and yes, it's definitely for the better I've had one little thing change me quite a bit as well, my first friend on vizzed! Ever since I got a friend on vizzed, I've been more outgoing on this site and about a year, the same happened in real life

I think I'm here for a bit of all, I like to talk to some people on here (not a lot but enough) and I do sometimes play the games on here (mainly for when I stream and what not) but I also come here to write my (occasional) review and become VIZZED FAOMOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am here mostly to game. I do have a few people on here that I enjoy conversing with and I like to read and offer input on the forum threads. Some think I am decent at reviewing,but I think I am not all that good at it. I do dislike the family friendly rule,I am an adult and at times I need to express myself in a bit of a vile manner. But it's okay,I'll live,lol.

I just stumbled back upon this site and I haven't been here in forever, so I feel like I had to post.

I'm mainly here because of friends topics and everything else in that category.

Unlike other sites, Vizzed I can easily communicate with, and the mods actually enforce the rules quite well.


If It wasn't for the sub concious thought of people making profile comments over my inactivity. I may actually had never come back to this place to tell the truth.

But my head told me day in and day out, I wasn't gonna leave here unnoticed.

So really I'm just on to ocassionally converse with friends and the community at large.

The reason I stumbled upon Vizzed two years back was because I looked for a replacement for the nesbox and snesbox web based emulators, which was discontinued when Nintendo choose to release the virtual console games. Since I'm using my school laptop, I'm not really comfortable to pirate anything (which I don't usually do anyway), which makes browser emulators a good alternative.

Once I forgot about the website, and didn't visit it for some months, and when I came back and saw the new design for the Retro Game Room, I found out about the PSX games. Curious as I was, I figured out that I needed the PSX tool to play them, which led me to look for ways to gain Viz. And that's how I found out about the forum.

I don't usually socialize on the Internet, and figured a smaller community without the amount of negativity that you can find in most other sites would be a good start. I've soon be active in the forums for two weeks, and I feel like my English and typing speed has already gotten faster! 

The reason I joined was because I was always into retro gaming, but couldn't get enough savings to actually collect. Add that with my impatience, and you have me browsing through the entire Internet looking for ways to play classic games for free. Before I discovered this I would go onto sites like 8bbit.com or game-oldies.com. Those were fine to work with, but didn't satisfy me for very long. On game oldies there was a copyright claim on the ORIGINAL Super Mario Bros. and other well known games which was odd, and 8bbit.com and their other sites library seemed to be lacking in my opinion.

It wasn't until a couple years later (2014 according to my profile) I found this glorious site and was immediately stunned. This site blew me away. I never thought it was possible to play Nintendo 64 games on the fly in my browser without any hassle. Vizzed simply did the collecting for you and let you have all of the fun. It was all I could of hoped for, except for one issue...

I was running on a Macbook Pro at the time and the Java emulators were a bit unstable and slow at the time, until I saw this thing about the plugin. I believe this was before the community here figured out a way to get it to run on Mac, which made me loose interest of the site and forget that it existed.

Until I got my PC in February, I used the same sites that I mentioned previously. They were fine, and it was the best I had so I had to make the most of it. When I upgraded to my gaming PC, I got side tracked because now I could play all of the high end games that I've wanted to play for a while on PC, and I lost interest in retro gaming for a good amount of time. I wasn't until a month ago(?) I re-discovered the site somehow, and saw all of the greatness it had once again. Seeing that it looked familiar, I checked to see if I could sign in and sure enough, I could remember it! It was the same account I abandoned because I was on Mac, and now that I had the full power to run what I always wanted to, I quickly installed the RGR plugin and went on a full 8-64 bit binge on anything I could find.

After that, I went and browsed the site where I discovered things like the Viz currency with the shop and all, which I thought was pretty stupid at the time, but quickly came to realize why it was there. I also discovered the forum for the very first time (Yes, I didn't even know there WAS a forum a year ago, and that's how I ended up here.

In summary, I joined because I wanted to play retro games, plugin wasn't compatible, abandoned the site, re-discovered it a year later on a new computer and started using it every day. Overall, it's a great site, I like it.

The reason I initially joined was because I really wanted to play old school video games without worrying about getting in trouble for other methods of obtaining said games, or without worrying about downloading a virus dressed up as an emulator. I pretty much stuck with that for awhile, and then somewhere along the line it basically flipped to the complete opposite.

Now, I barely touch the RGR, and usually when I do it's only for playing games I am getting ready to review for the community. I consider myself very activate within the community, and now it's the primary reason I'm on vizzed. It's kind of nice seeing so many different people from different walks of life coming together with one main thing in common: We all love video games.

Video games are getting mainstream attention now of days, but it's not like we can just go out and talk to random people at our job about video games. Some of them don't care, some of them look at you crazy, etc. Vizzed is a nice place because I know that there's usually always a few others who have had similar experiences to myself, which is neat. The people on here are pretty cool, especially the more active ones that I can talk to often!

So yeah, I'm here for the community! I hope to stay here for many years, too. As long as the people stay cool, I won't be leaving any time soon.

zanesix: I found tons of retro game sites before vizzed. The ones you mentioned I didn't check out though. All of them are very lacking compared to vizzed! I really like that the RGR plugin is one plugin for every emulator.

Skilledtree : I find myself not playing games in the RGR that much either. I used to be somewhat anti-social on here and hang out in the RGR, but now I'm mainly in the community. Most days I only play RGR games to take and upload screenshots for my staff position here!

Although I was focused on gaming at first, I now have to write game guides. It is something I enjoy; it takes more work than it looks like, especially for longer games like Phantasy Star IV. I also enjoy writing reviews and, if I win the auction, I might even have my own forum!

janus : I only wrote a game guide once, and it was a short walkthrough of how to do a cool glitch in a hack of a game. But the one time I did a game guide, it was a lot of fun I've also liked writing reviews, I used to do it at least once a week for months in a row!

However, I don't have near as much interest in it as I used to. At least I have improved my reviewing skills way more over the years!
