CONTROLS
 
A button = right body blow
B button = left body blow
up + A = right head shot
up + B = left head shot
Start = uppercut if you got a star, start the round, start the game
Select = regain lost energy between rounds down = block
down, down = duck
left = dodge left

GAMEPLAY
 
There are 13 opponents to defeat on route to a one on one encounter with Mr. Dram himself who looks like a white boy version of Mike Tyson and he fights like him the exact same way. Each of the opponents come from a different city or a different country. They also range in strength. However, they all have one little flaw that is easily exposed. 

With the exception of Bald Bull II, if the referee reaches 9, the opponent is as good  as dead because if he tries to get up, he'll fall back down and be counted out. If an opponent gets up at 1, he'll be knocked down again with a star uppercut. Some opponents have special moves that could lead to an automatic knockdown if you don't do something to stop it or avoid it. In some cases, if you snuff it, they will get knocked down themselves no matter how much energy they have like the Bull Charge and Magic Punches.

You will recognize his theme song as the French National Anthem. This guy can easily be beaten with a blindfold on or while you are asleep. Just listen to the music and when you hear him make a couple chirps or four chirps, then punch him in the belly (two chirps) or face (four chirps). He will go down like a ton of bricks. He will sometimes stay down for the count if you hit him quickly enough upon re-entry or he will get up at the count of 1 and you can knock him on his keister if you uppercut him once. Glass Joe does not yield any stars until after you have hit him 20 times so if you want to try a small little challenge, try getting 20 hits in before he taunts then uppercut him upon re-entry for an instant knockout. Unlike Punch Out Wii, the referee counts to 10 instead of the cinematic Knock Out cutscene.

Von Kaiser really hates uppercuts with a passion one stunned uppercut will knock him down. He will not yield a star until after you have hit him 8 times then hit him with a non counter shot. He starts out with the cuckoo clock jabs. Block or dodge them then hit him with four right jabs of your own. After eight hits, counter his cuckoo clock jab with a hit to the gut for a star. Dodge the next one then hit him and give him an uppercut, he will go no no no and be sent to the canvas. He will get up and at this point it doesn't matter if he got up at 1 but it you want to hit him with an unstunned uppercut then he will get up at 1 if you are fast enough.

His second major weakness is when you dodge his uppercut. Alternate jabs or body blows left and right and he will stay stunned until he is knocked down to the canvas. This same weakness will come into play for a future opponent in the game.

PISTON HONDA

When the fight starts, tap the d-pad up to make him raise his guard and hit him in the gut four times. The fourth body blow will yield a star. Save your stars for later. Time a jab to his head when you see him wiggle his eyebrows to counter his left jab for a star and do it again. If he does an uppercut, you can go to town on him for 11 consecutive hits. Unleash your first uppercut when he is nearly down. If you were fast enough then he will get up at 1 and you can smash him again with another uppercut.
 
Quick tip: When Piston Honda jumps back, he'll do a dance back and forth then go in for a Honda Rush. Punch him as he comes in. One good shot will send him flying back for a knockdown. He will only do the Honda Rush at the 1:00 or 2:00 mark of each round. Since you already knocked him down the second time but the time he did his rush, he is TKO'd

Remember when I said, Von Kaiser's second weakness would come back to be used against another opponent? That opponent is none other that Don Flamenco. At the start of the fight, he will sit there and taunt and want you to hit him. He will keep taunting until the end of the round. Hit him to make him block then avoid his Flamenco Uppercut. Alternate jabs left and right until he falls. He will get up and come out with a surprise Flamenco Uppercut which you can avoid then repeat the process. If you were fast enough, he will stay down after the second knockdown.
 
He has another major weakness for those who like to do speed runs. Dodge his Flamenco Uppercut and delay an jab to the face as much as possible before he blocks it. If timed right, he yields a star and one Uppercut will send him flying. When he gets up, you can hit him in the belly when he goes for a surprise Flamenco Uppercut but it is better to dodge it and finish him off.

I'll just make this quick. Just avoid his jabs and when he opens his mouth punch him in the face and then hit him in the belly 8 times. Repeat this process three more times and he is down for the count because he is too fat to get off his keister. If you hit him in the mouth quickly enough after he opens it, you can actually hit him in the belly 9 times. He is the only opponent that does not yield any stars but he will do so when you fight him in the Wii version (not the VC one but the retail one).

Great Tiger spends the first minute doing jabs. You can watch the jewel on his hat and dodge the punch or you can take the initiative and make him block a jab for him to try to counter with a jab of his own. If you do the latter, dodge the counter and time a delayed jab to the gut for a star. Keep repeating until you get three stars then hit him with two uppercuts then do the time delayed jab two more times then hit him with another uppercut and try to knock him down before the 1:00 mark. Everytime he goes down before 1:00, he gets up at the count of 1 and you know what that means. If you play your cards right, he will be TKO'd in less than a minute of game time.
 
If you fail to beat him in 1:00, he will alternate uppercuts left and right until the end of the round. He won't use his magic punches until around the 2:20 mark. Hold down to block and keep blocking until he has made five passes or he will keep punching until you are down. After the 5th blocked punch, he will get dizzy and a jab to the face will knock him down. If the fight goes past the 1st round, he will start the next 2 rounds with magic punches. He will start the magic punches again after his next uppercut.

BALD BULL

Bald Bull starts off with rolling jabs. Hit him before he hits you for a possible star then repeat twice. Now there is a programming pattern that starts from here. Look for Bald Bull to pump up before he throws his hook. You can hit him before he throws the punch for a star but you can also uppercut him during his pump up for more damage. If he threw two hooks, he will return to the three Rolling Jabs. If he did three hooks, he will do a random number of uppercuts. So remember, two hooks lead to rolling jabs and three hooks lead to uppercuts.
 
Later on in the first round, Bald Bull will hop his way back to the ropes, do squats and do three hops forward and launch an uppercut. This is called his Bull Charge. If he hits you, you go down regardless of energy. If you hit him in the gut on the third hop, he goes down. If he misses, he will attempt the move again until the end of the round or somebody goes down.

He changes up his strategy from the last fight. This time you must hit tap up each time you do a gutter at the start of the round. After the 4th gutter, he will start his attack where he throws his jabs more quickly. He also takes less punches from his uppercuts. At times he will do his fake out uppercut but if you time your body blow right, you can get a star off him before he uppercuts. Countering his Honda Rush does not guarantee a knockdown any more and he still does it around the 1:00 and 2:00 of every round. If you don't knock him down, he yields a star and continues the Honda Rush. If you knock him down, he stays down unless he was on his last bit of energy and he would have gone down regardless but would've yielded a star if he had energy.

He may be tough but he has a major weakness you can exploit. Block or counter his two left hooks then get into your block stance and if he goes for an uppercut, he will freeze. Hit him in the gut then avoid the next uppercut and come back with an uppercut of your own for an instant knockdown. You see, gutters make him vulnerable to uppercuts. Rinse and repeat for the second knockdown. For the third knockdown. Don't dodge the 2nd Uppercut or he will dodge yours. Make him freeze the 2nd time and then uppercut him to finish him off. He won't dodge it because he is about to launch his next attack (either a jab or a hook) and it will be countered.

The only way to knock him down is with a star uppercut or counter his Bull Charge. Depleting his energy by normal means will make him regain his energy. When he moves his arms up and down slowly. Hit him anywhere to get a star. His Bull Charge is the same as before except if you dodge it, he will shorten it so you have to counter a little sooner. Bald Bull is the only fighter who will get up at 9. And he does it all the time until you have knocked him down for the 5th time of the fight.

Don Flamenco step up his game here too. He will start off with three hooks which you can counter with body blows then he will come at you with a lightning fast hook that is hard to dodge. He will rinse and repeat for the first half of the round before he starts taunting. Get in as many uppercuts as you can before he starts taunting to make this fight go a little smoother. When he starts taunting, make him block to provoke him into using his Flamenco Uppercut. He will sometime taunt several times before he attacks this time around. He will do this till the end of the round. He starts off fighting like this in the next round for the first half of the 2nd round until he starts fighting normal again.

There is a way to play Mr. Sandman like a fiddle during most of the fight. Before that, Mr. Sandman throws several Rolling Jabs. Dodge and counter him and after the 11th jab, he will start throwing hooks. When he begins to do so, just throw a jab which he dodges and counters with a hook which you can dodge then punch him in the face then hit him in the belly 3 times. This takes him down big time. If you time the 3rd punch to hit him late (hit two times, then delay the third hit), then you can take off more energy.  When you see Mr. Sandman stop dodging and start blocking. He is getting ready for his Triple Uppercut. If you dodge his triple uppercut, hit him in the face then you can pound on his belly 15 times. Sandman starts off with rolling jabs which you can counter with a punch. He won't yield stars till round 3 and even do regular uppercuts. You can't win by decision in this one.

SUPER MACHO MAN

He fights normally but with quick punches. If he vibrates, he will do a Super Punch which hurts a lot. He will do a Super Spin Punch aft you knock him down and he gets up/ When he rears back he'll do 2-12 consecutive Super Punches. Dodge them all or you'll get knocked down. Late counters net you a star. Bear in mind that he will take less damage from stunned punches. He is easy to land gutters on when he is reving up for a Spin Punch or Super Spin Punch.

Mr. Dream starts off with Dynamite Punches, what for him to flicker then dodge the uppercut and strike back twice. Then dodge more and do the same.His Dynamite Punches knock you down if they hit you. You can survive one Dynamite Uppercut by blocking. Dodge them all and he is neturalized for the rest of the fight. Now he will do his winking hooks for the rest of the fight. Try to dodge the moment he winks and he'll miss the hook and be open for punishment. At the start off the round, block his quick jabs until you are out of hearts then dodge his next few punches until you recover. He'll ocasionally do his his Dream Rush so hit him while he blinks to get a star or knock him down. If he survives the hit, block his Tyson Rush then smack him with an Uppercut. He will fall if you know what do to do for the rest of the fight.

At the start off the round, block his quick jabs until you are out of hearts then dodge his next few punches until you recover. He'll ocasionally do his his Dream Rush so hit him while he blinks to get a star or knock him down. If he survives the hit, block his Tyson Rush then smack him with an Uppercut. He will fall if you know what do to do for the rest of the fight.
