Default settings, only turn off the sounds and such.

Besides, I mostly only need it for the one time in a year that my common sense fails me.

Yeah, I'd advise you to try out the new Avast 5.

Avast 4.8 was very VERY confusing for beginners to understand.

But they fixed a lot of the problems.

I do research on computer viruses , so I pretty much know about how you get them and stuff , whatever you do , DON'T install ANY anti-virus or anti-spyware .

There are some trojan rouge anti-virus like SpySheriff and anti-virus 2009 .


The name for stuff that's not what they are but it's a virus (Like you downloaded a game but it was a virus , or fakes) are called trojans horse (but people called them trojans since that sound more hi-tech ) .

No, I have never had a virus on my computer, because I use Norton, which so far, has kept the viruses away.

Yes, three times.

The first time: when I was 12 years old, I saw the AD named "bots", and I watched its gameplay, it was good, and they say there's two ways to play it:
#1: buy its CD for 5.99$.
#2: download it.
I clicked download and install it, nothing happen, but when I launch it, a hidden virus appeared, luckily I had an anti-virus.

The second time: when I was 13 years old, I liked a game at my school so I copied it, and I was stupid enough to copy the short-cut (which is a program to launch the game), and paste it in my computer, and 13 virus appeared, again I'm luck to have my anti-virus.

The third time: My mom bought me a new flash 8GB for 15$, I said to mom "it is very cheap, where did you buy this?", she replied "it's from china", at first, nothing happened, but then strange program appeared and I tried to delete it, but it appeared again, I tried to format it, but a box appeared and it says "cannot format, make sure you close its programs, then try to format it", then I realized that the flash 8GB had Trojan virus.

Well, thats my story.

hmmm let me think back a bit.. my first ever computer was a dell, i hated dell so much with a passion but i got used to it eventually. but anyways yes i have gottin viruses on my old computer infact i think it took like.. 4 reformats and then it finally died lol... so i did have it for a good long time and it was in good shape. but my new computer is wayyyy better and i heart it so

Man Virus is just something that goes along with computers. Just when you think that your fully protected it will hit you. I have had a virus before on my work computer and on my personal computer at home. More and more these days you can get them a lot easier and be tricked when you get them. All I can say is make sure you have a good virus protector, don't open spam or emails from people that you don't know and seriously be careful when using Facebook or Myspace.

I had a friend who created a Trojan Horse as a joke (not a deadly one- it didn't destroy files or anything) and then clicked on it by accident. She had to spent days reconfigurating her computer after that one...

Um, don't look at porn or download anything unless it is from a clean site? I think that it is my Firefox that provides a review on the security of a site. Either good, unknown, or harmful. Doesn't block pop-ups, but some site I use have pop-ups and I don't want to block those. Getting three pop-ups in a row is very irritating.

Yess! Omg, I hate viruses. Especially, nowadays when you go on a regular ol' site that's suppose to be safe, but they have ads that contains virus that automatically just attack your computer. So lame. But good thing, I have my Avast buddy here. I love you Avast for protecting my laptop.

When I was in the 6th grade, I was the virus. Lol. I went into the C:/ drive and started deleting stuff randomly. Crashed the computer and had to get it fixed. Brand new computer too. Since then, no viruses, even when using Limewire or something like that.

Almost always getting viruses my laptop had soo many i left it outside when i grabbit it started to spark i threw it on the street and it burst into flames then blew up it almost set the naborhood on fire never sownload snes games from the internet ( where vizzed board comes in) vizzed dont have viruses and dont have virus giving games nothing tht will make and or give viruses
